Channel death

We were trying to enter the channel Sat. night from Thompson Bay about 6 or 7 and the sheriff boat stopped us and said there was crime scene investigation going on. Saw a couple divers and a small black body bag.
Anyone know if this was a new incident or the body they couldn't find from a week or so back?
