I need to replace my tach... it shows 6,000 rpms at about 3/4 throttle... I highly doubt I'm turning 6K. It's old.
Anyone know what size I should replace it with? 3 3/8"?

Just looking for something old-looking. Nothing crazy like a big Autometer. I'll just measure the hole..... maybe I'll have my wife measure my hole? lol

Go to egauges.com I replaced my malfunctioning VDO tach from my 87 with the exact same one it had only new. They have all types too I think.

now that was "brutal"!!!...anyways...just put something else in the existing hole & go for the "monster" tach from Autometer & mount it on the dash...looks great & turns heads!!!

I hear ya on the monster tach.... I'd just like to preserve the old stock appearance of my boat and not drill any new holes or fill old ones.
I asked the wife... she said no. :)

Dare I say it :)
Check Ebay for a matching tach

Another option if you want to keep the stock look is to have that tach restored. Check with "NAPABOB" who posts here and on Banderlog. He had an old Stewart Warner restored and it looked great. He's got some pics of it HERE. (http://www.banderlog.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2143&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=120)

I think they're 3 3/8", seems that's the standard size. The wife bought me a new white Faria to replace the old black and blue one. :)
