I'm looking for a spark arrester similar to the one on the left for the Stevens. Anyone have one around for 5 1/4" air horn?

Glenwood still makes them don't they? I know the street rod guys are always on the hunt for them too.
I like you thinking, it is THE ONE for your boat fo sho.

I've been going back and forth about what to run... that or the 60s fiberglass scoop. I looked back at some of the old pics and decided it pretty much had to be the arrester. Problem is, I'm building something where I won't fit in with the jets or the v-drives, and it's not full of bling, so the big ballers won't give me the time of day. I guess it's the equivalent to a rat rod.... a rat boat.
Whatever will I do not fitting in with everyone else? :boxed:

You're right it's 5 1/8. That'll teach me to type left handed.

That lever's going to take some getting used to. It's the opposite of a car...forward is up, reverse is down.

yeah, one of those scoops would be ok too. But I still like the arrestor for that boat.
As far as fitting in who gives a rats azz. You are building it for yourself so don't let anyone sway ya. And you know what? I think you will be supprised at how many people will think it's cool and come over for a closer looksee.
case in poit, it's not my cup O tee but I think what you are doing is pretty f'in cool and can't wait to see it in person. It's not often you see a period correct restore on a boat like that.

I'm not concerned with fitting in.... look at my toys, they're all a little "different"... I'm used to not fitting in. This'll be a fun project and be similar to the show cars... take it out and just cruise 'em. Kinda something made for a custom/vintage boat show, eh? I didn't say that out loud, did I? Wouldn't want to let the cat outa the bag quite yet......

Your boat reminds me of a H.A.M.B. project.

They hate the roadster on HAMB. Maybe they'll appreciate the Stevens.

lets weld a hitch to the roadster and use it to tow the stevens.

That would be too much metalflake in a small area. Besides, it took me a day to get the POS hitch OFF that some idiot welded on it!

Glenwood said they're obsolete. If I had a nickel for every time a supplier has told me that.......

Shoot me a PM if you still need pistons. I have lots and lots of them for ANY Pontiac set up as well as all the other parts you might need.

Its not that I could not find any, its just I could not find any Good forged pistons... had ross make me a set with massive dishers so that i could run pump gas. Of corse I latter found out that I could run Speed pro std bore 455 pistons and get the lower comp I need....( basicly 60 over and .100 less compression hight.) Anyways I mine are still almost 150 grams lighter. :)
