Sandbar next weekend??

Will the sandbar be open for the holiday weekend??? If not where do most people meet up? We will have a pretty big group, a few of which have never been to Havasu, and I want to make sure they get the full experience. I will be launching at Topock and we will be in a pontoon boat and wakeboard boat so I'd rather not drive all the way to the channel

Sandbar will be closed. If you are looking to party and not drive then the Mini sandbar, or go accross the way from Topok to the little channel way at the campgrounds. Other than that you need to drive to channel/ copper/ steamboat.

Do you guys think they'll have a lane through Copper Canyon? I haven't been on the water for the 4th since 2002, but other big weekends I've seen the lane going right through the center of the canyon.
