I am really hoping to go for a ride in one for comparison to a 28' Conquest. There is about a $25,000-$30,000 difference in price so I'm very curious if the price difference is worth it. If you have a friend or co-worker that has a 28' Cheetah Fast Cat please give them my e-mail or phone number so maybe we could hook up for a little demo.
Thanks Again,
Dan

No....they said to go in the channel on a weekend and just ask someone who has one. Seems pretty ghetto if you ask me.

Did you talk to Bob in Lake Havasu? Is that who told you this?

Call and talk to Keith at Conquest.

Well....the difference is $60-65K for the Cheetah or $85-90K for the Conquest. I think hands down we all know that the Conquest is a better quality boat all around. But is the Conquest REALLY worth the extra $25-$30K??? That is the questions I was hoping some of you guys could shed some light on.

www.DanKaatz.com (http://www.DanKaatz.com) That is a very typical question asked by all people who have cheetah's but can afford more.

I think the best way to answer a question like that is to go to the factory, look around, take pictures, and ask lots of questions. Look and see for yourself how the boats are put together, parts used, materials used, glass work, etc. I think you'll find that the Cheetah is a pretty solid boat and a good value, especially for those where money IS a consideration (like me!). Only you can decide if the more expensive boats are worth it to you.

Take a look at the Magic 28 deck while you're shopping. I made a great deal with them and am very happy with mine.

HDD, I think that it would be unfair to Magic to disclose the exact number but I'll give you an idea.
496HO, transom trim switch, powder coat pkg., front and rear biminis, swim ladder, dual batteries with switch, depth finder, their top Sony stereo with 6 disc changer, drive shower, front and rear wash down systems, colored guage bezels, boat cover, carpet kit, custom wheels on the trailer, and porta potti. List price around $90,000 plus tax I paid a good amount under $80,000 plus tax.
I have read some negitive comments about dealing with Magic on this board, I hope that the problems are solved and all works out well for everyone involved. But for the record, my experience with Magic went perfectly, my boat was delivered on time as promised, they did everything that they said they would do and have went out of their way to help me with service after the sale. I met Jack Lyle at the LA boat show, he is out of their Phoenix office, he is a cool guy and easy to deal with, he's always happy to hear from me and willing to help in any way possible.
I hope this gives you a little more info to help with your decision.
Good Luck

Thanks STGP, :D
Can you post a picture or two? :D
If you ordered it at the boat show did you end up dealing with the Phoenix shop?
I think the bad press is from the Havasu location, it seems not one problem from the Phoenix office? wink

I actually bought the boat that was at the LA show, however they had to install the motor and they had to change some things like gauge bezels, fab. the double bimini, and do most of the rigging. I delt with Phoenix the whole way through but the boat was delivered to me in Havasu by their crew. After the sale they we very helpful in Havasu, they actually went to my storage unit and picked up my boat for 20 hr. service, Lew stayed late one nite until I could get there from So. Cal. to pick it up. I would not hesitate to buy another boat from them.I have pics in the image center,I'll try to post them here http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/598P1010081-med.JPG It worked-I can't belive it!

www.DanKaatz.com (http://www.DanKaatz.com) Hey Dan, my friend just sold his Cheetah 28 a couple of weeks ago. I have been on the boat for a couple of rides and it seemed very nice. It ran about 65mph with a 502mag and felt good on the water. He liked the boat, but is now looking at the Magic 28 for next season. Obviously you are doing your homework, and catch'n a ride on the boats you like will help that decision. Have fun and post some pic,s when you decide!
