Ok having probs pulling the bowl..

Berk jc. I am getting ready to rebuild the pump so its out and clamped on the bench. I pulled the 8 bowl bolts. But I can't get it to come off of the suction housing. Can I I tap it with a rubber mallet to help break it free? I tried using a couple of stiff putty knifes, but it still does not want to come off.

good sharp wide chisal lightly tap 180* from each other then when you can get a wide flat head be nise and easly pry

Screw one or two of the 1/2" bowl bolts in about 1/2 way and pry from the hand hole cover housing and against the bolt heads. Works every time.
You can put in a couple bottom bolts and pry against the bottom pump flange too.

I found out why it was so hard to get off... some 1 used about a tube of silcone instead of a new gasket. Only took 2 hours today to get it apart...

When that chit works, it works GOOD! Don't ya just love RTV silicone? :rolleyes:
