That flame job looks trick...the blues/gray's should look tight. Good choice on the dark gray windscreen....can't wait to see it snapped together. So were they trying to recreate the flame layout from the MX helmet?

HERE'S JM2'S NEW 26 UPSIDE DOWN GETTING BLUEPRINTED....THIS THING IS HUGE!!!!I am going to ask a dumb question here! Why do they blue print the bottem? It comes out of the same mold and every one should be identical right??

TOBTEK
11-08-2002, 07:36 AM
OMG WILLIE what is wrong with you! why do you ask questions like this? :D :D kidding ofcourse....ya know, that is a good question? if the mold is close to perfect, why do they have to mess with the hull at all??? Dont rib me here , But many yrs ago when I was a wantabe jetski racer we would blueprint our hulls. And these are MUCH smaller hulls/molds and the smallest of tweek's made a large difference. So maybe just to ensure that they are perfect they do so???

She must have a clue....Actually, there's kinda a funny story behind it...
I had been posting here for a few months, and someone mentioned DCB. I posted something like:
"watch out for Carlos- he likes to wear women's clothes...I think Dave even sent him home one time for showing up to work with a little sun dress on..."
Well, I didn't know he lurks on the boards, and he didn't know I posted here, but I figured it would get back to him. He spent the next couple weeks trying to track down who "Havasu Hangin'" is...even trying to get the CF numbers off my boat in my profile (I had my boat re-gelled, and I guess he didn't recognize it, or the interior that he did...)
I thought it was funny. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/happy34.gif
He's probably still lurking around...one day, he might actually read the directions that came with the keyboard at DCB, then maybe he'll post... http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/happy15.gif

NO ROAD TRIPS!! :D Duct tape would definetly be better. The snaps burn your feet, arms, hands whatever they touch when its 110 degrees out. Just move your weekend warrior out to hidden shores and call it good. Check your e-mail.

Putting in the new priemer fiberoptic c/d mp3 head unit. PhoenixGold Titanium sieres amps, one 600w 2 channel for the subs and one 500w 4channel for the other speakers, speakers are focal seperates. (2) 11" subs, (4) 6.5 mids, (4) 4.75 mids and 4 tweeters, all composit construction ofcorse. zero gauge wiring into Phoenixgold fused Distribtion blocks, out to a digital 1fared powercap. ya know just your average Kmart special.. :D

NICE! Phoenix Gold is good stuff. Hope it all turns out just like you want. May I ask one question? Why the A/B class amp for the subs? Wouldn't a class D be more efficent? Just a suggestion.
Congrats on all the top shelf gear! I have a lot of the PG wires, D-Blocks, etc in my ride

IMHO, Focal produces some of the best SQ speakers on the market. I heard a set their components paired up with a Zapco amp. It had some serious sound reproduction. Subs in the car were Eclipse titaniums.
Word on the grapevine is that we're trying to pick up their line for next year, but they aren't sure they can meet our demand. I hope we get'em. It would be nice to offer something other than the Boston Acoustics Z series component speakers($1000pr.)for our SQ customers.
TOBTEK's stereo should sound great.
We'll need some pictures, bud!
RC, I agree on the mono amp. PG's 1200.1 would have been nice :)
I didn't know AV International got into car audio. Their home speakers are audiophile caliber. That quality of speaker doesn't belong in a boat. You'd never get them to sound the way they were designed to sound. I'm sure it would take a lot of time to get the imaging right, but if you really like them, put them into the new truck :D If you want to go insane and have an extra $7000.00 laying around, check out the Rainbow reference series 2-way component system. eek! I sure would like to hear them. :D
And Froggy, Rainbow's amps...11-16V! 16V! Their class D maxes out at 2500w 10hm @ 16v!

We just bought a new Sony 65" Wide screen HDTV and the picture sucked when we got it home. I bought it from Circuit City because they were 1k cheaper than Tweeter for the same TV. Circuit city came down 1k on the price when I acted like I was going to walk out of the store. I made them come and get the Sony though because it was giving us a headache. They said it is Sony's newest model and I was the third person to return one.
We ended up going with the Hitachi 65" wide screen HDTV instead. They are going to deliver it on Tuesday so we will se how the picture looks. Everybody I talked to said to go with the Hitachi over the Sony.
The cool thing is I bought a 4 year warranty / service plan for $500.00 and at anytime during the 4 years that I am not happy they will refund me 100% of what I payed. Basically I can wait for the Plasmas to come down in price, and 3 years and 11 months from now I will make them take back the Hitachi and upgrade. This sounded to good to be true at first but I was told by more than one person that they would take it back no questions asked.
Hey Roz...You need to tell your sales people to deal more on their prices. J/K :D
BTW: We have a 36" XBR as well. Great TV, it is on the way to Havasu when the new one gets here. I have always bought Sony and this is the first time they have disapointed (sp) me.

Tube tv's = Sony ; Big Screen Tv's = Pioneer Elite then Mitsubishi ; Plasmas = Pioneer Elite then Sony (IMHO)

Not being on the retail side of our company, I'm unaware of what warranties the competition offers. It does sound too good to be true. I'm gonna check this out.....BUT people usually forget they have a warranty until something goes wrong. Make sure you keep an eye on those dates.
Hey Roz...You need to tell your sales people to deal more on their prices. J/K :D [/b]

Tubes will probably be long gone pretty soon as well. LCD's and Plasma will one day rule. Sharp's Aquious LCD line goes from 10" to 30". Still expensive, but as with everything else, they'll come down in price very quickly.

Charlie,
Maybe you have to have a talk with him (Dave)! You got some pull! I always felt he was a bit stuffy when it came to showing his stuff. You would think he would like to show off his product. I know the more I see items I like the more I want them. Look what a little exposer can do for you. Just ask Jesse James!
I personally think if he would update his website and let more pictures of his work out he would be that more busy or drive the demand up!
Just my oppinion.

WW-
I agree 100%. He should finish (actually start) the gallery section on his website with pics of his customers boats. I love that feature of Essex's website. I think it would provide him more business. More demand equals higher prices which equal more profit. Sounds like common sense to me. He should only show boats that are completed, and let owners (such as Tobek and RR) show pics of their boat being built. The moral of the story, pass the word to Dave to get his gallery section going.

Tobtek,
No DCB for me although I really like their boats. I was actually almost the owner of a DCB 22 extreme back around 1994 when DCB was relatively new.
I have a 29' Shockwave that I got in May. I looked at the 28 extreme, but chose my boat because I knew I would use it in the ocean a lot and wanted something with a little more size than the extreme.
Keep putting up the pics of your boat, it's looking great!!

LevoeDCB22 - Did you buy the Mach 22 with the I/O that was in Daves showroom? When I went to Daves for the 1st time in late July, it was to buy the 22 with the supercharged 377 scorpion. When I got there, Dave told me that it had been sold a day earlier, and showed me another one that I got a ride in and fell in love with. I dont know how long it was in the showroom.

Toby,
Sick Stereo setup, so where is the Amp Board going to be mounted? With all the weight, you might just want have them clamp on another OB... :D
Also, since they will be done soon, do you get to take possession of it, or do they keep it until after the boat show? The wait must be killing you. cry

mbrown2- I think that unless they are for sure using toby's boat for the boat show he will have to pick it up. DCB has 22 new boat orders already. Thats a huge number before the boat show, especially for a company that only produces 30 -40 boats a year. They don't have any room to keep anymore boats. Plus Dave has some maintance to do on my boat :D

Where they normaly put them up front would be a kink if we open up the front! Everything would have to be re-rigged.....no thank you! and YES, I would love to have ONE MORE clamp on the back......or if I was REAL money I would have bought a MACH26
