After countless threads started looking for help... I finally had a complete day on the river with no problems. I also remembered to bring my camera along.
For those of you that have helped me.... this is what I've been working on.

It's not a beast nor is it 'tricked out' but I like the old school look. Ford 460 with a JE Pump.

Nice lookin' cruiser.
May I ask, what are you tied up to? It looks like the bow light, but I don't believe it.

Thanks, Beer!!
I just need a diverter, and some new interior. Driver's seat is falling apart on me.

Nice ride stash;) What kind of hull is that? I sold that same looking hull to my friend. He is going to get excited to see your boat. He was wondering how it was going to look in the water and now there will be a pic to see;)

Thanks, guys!
It's a 1977 Spectra 18'.
I'm 50-50 on removing that bow rail. I'm not sure what it'd look like w/out that rail and honestly... it's just one more thing for me to trip over at the sandbar! It does help when I float that sucker on my trailer at the ramp.
What do you think? Bow rail or no bow rail?

I vote keep the bow rail. Especially if you like the classic look. But my opinion may be bias, here is mine with the bow rail intact...

Okay.. I agree on the bow rail!
Also... I don't want to have to deal with 25 holes to fill! :)

I hadn't seen one there before and didn't see it in the ropes.
Keep the bow rail. I have a 19' cruiser and am planning on putting it back on. Previous owner removed it but gave me the tubing. I just need to find some the same mounts that were original. I'll have it enter the bow about 2' back on both sides so someone can tie onto an anchor line from the bow if necessary.
My wife hates bow rails because she says it makes it hard to sit on the deck. I say good, y'all shoud be sitting on the seats or swim step.

lol Paul,
The funny thing is I have less in these two boats than if I went out and bought an entry level Ultra 21. There are good deals to be had out there as you have discovered. Maintaining two boats does get to be a little pricy but I have no payment so it balances out.

here is a pic of I believe NapaBob's Spectra. It is almost the same as mine. We all have the same boat. :) :) I don't have the rail on mine either. I will try to get a photo for you to see what it looks like.

Nice boat, and I think the rail should stay as well. I don't like them on the shorter boats but on a bigger cruiser, I think it fits in. Congrats on finally getting it sorted out.
