View Full Version : Pics of my first Jet Boat!!!

I finally got some pics of my boat. It's a 1980 Cougar Bubbledeck with a 460 Ford and a Berkeley F pump. It came with an "A" impeller that was dented, pitted and cavitated all to hell with a worn out wear ring.
That impeller ran 64.9 mph on GPS at 4800 rpm.
I've since replaced the impellor with a Aggressor "AA". It is now running 1 MPH slower (GPS) but at 4200 RPM.
Few Questions,
-Should I machine this impeller to bring the rev's up a bit?
-Will a loader-grate bring my rpm down more?

are you running a droop snoot on it?
my boat has a 454 with a berk pump, droop, loader, and diverter, it runs 68 at about 4900rpms

boat looks sweat my .02 is its a ford let the torque do is work and has any thing changed on the moter since last gps

whats up with the A Impellers. I have almost same exact speed at 4900 max rpm as well with my olds 455 and my buddie as well with his BBC 454 63MPH GPS at 4900RPM. where do i get a AA impeller for a good price etc. where did you get yours and did you put it in yourself?

Nope, just the factory trim with a little die grinder work to bring up the rooster tail.

I left the engine alone between each impeller. It seems strong. The new wear ring is way more fun!!! Holeshot is alot better.

I bought this impeller in Edmonton, I'll have to keep the rocks out of this one. $450 Canadian. I put the impeller in myself, had to make a socket and use a puller to get the old one out, but not too bad. I put bushings and new seal in the bowl at the same time. I'm hoping that I haven't put to much impeller in....
