I have another thread going in the hot boats section, and thanks to all that have replied.
My new question would be, who makes the best rough water cat 28' or under??
I know everybody has their own opinion, but I can learn a lot just from the argument. So please argue away.

The best rough water 28 Cat would be the Skater 28...true deep tunnels handle the rought stuff better than the West Coast Center Pod tunnels...There are compromises though..Skater is hit and miss on the rigging; unless you have it rigged your self by a reputable rigger, it will not be to the level of a DCB...Also, the True Tunnels will not turn as well as the Center Pod Tunnels....if you are looking for the Best All around (creature comforts and performance) Tunnel 28 and under, I would look at the DCB Mach 26 or Eliminator LP 28..

Does'nt the DCB and Eliminator have a flat center pod which will tend to give a hasher ride, verses the American Offshore and copies that have a v type center pod?

WPM 28'. I have owned a 25 Ultimate Warlock cat, a 25 Daytona and now the 28 Warrior cat by WPM.

Check out the Stoker 22. With either big block sterndrive or 300x outboard, should be a good rough water small boat.

To answer the question, 24 or 28 Skater or a 25 Motion is the best performing rough water cats built, 28 feet and under. The Ocean Express is another good one that people seem to forget about.
25 Eliminator, 26 American Offshore, 25 Talon, etc., cannot handle the kind of water the above mentioned boats can handle.

hey sslems, I think you are the guy running the twin small blocks? Tommy @ wpm said you lived up here by me(i'm in Foothill Ranch). I owned a 23' warrior and always wanted to go for a ride in yours. Ended up trading my 23' a few weeks ago, almost bought the 28, but went 26dcb instead.

With the exception of the 24 or 28 Skater I would have to vote for the 2600 American Offshore. Not sure in the west coast but in this part of the country I seem to be the only 28 and under tunnel that will run hard in poker runs (rough water)! Yes there are faster eliminators but you do not see the 25 and 26 footers running hard in the poker runs. Not only does the AO handle it but it handles the rough stuff very well. I would not hesitate to let my girlfriend drive the boat in snotty water!! Also, from what I can remember, back in the 99 and 01 APBA race seasons AO was the only manufacture racing there 28 and under cat(not including skater). At least on the east coast races. That is one fact that convinced me to by my AO!! :D

What about the Eliminator 28' tall deck with twins? They handle the pokerruns without any trouble.
