installed a cda 9847 and it will play for about 15 secs than the speakers stop working and the back of the head unit get really hot cant even touch it. is it a defective head unit? anyone have this problem?

i beleive so im not the one that wired it but i got the easy install wiring harness but i beleive the ground is good.

Factory speakers? Sounds like you may have a bad speaker. let the unit cool down, unplug the speaker wires, turn it back on and see if it gets hot.

Have it rewired and I bet it will work right, I have the CDE-9852 and it works great.........( . )( . ).................. :cool:

What kind of speakers? The reason I ask Infinity is building 2 ohm 6.5" separates that will give head units fits. There are also a few more out that are sub 4 ohm.

nothin special its goin in a jeep and i beleive the speakers are stock so i dont think it should be causing problems. ill check the wiring and make she thats all squared away.
