I'm building a blown alcohol motor for a river race boat. I'm using a KB600 block with a 4.600" bore and .500" studs. The o-rings are centered in the sleeve. The problem is with the large bore and studs there is barely enough room to get the o-rings past the studs and there is maybe .050" of gasket. To make matters worse, the bore on the gaskets is 4.030". I'm worried that the gasket will blow out. How much gasket do I need to get a good seal with the o-rings?

I would call 1-817-467-7171 and ask David Reher as he has a ton of experience with those blocks and is a Wizard in his own right.

If you do contact the "Hunter boys", please say HI! for me. I set up a "super eliminator" runnerbottom for them back in the 80's, and it was a nice boat. "Glory Days" was it's name.

Thanks guys for your suggestions, I'll make some calls and see what I can find out. By the way, in my original post I said the bore on the gasket was 4.030", that's obviously wrong, it's 4.630". Thanks again....
