I'm sorry to say that I am going to sell my 1998 Firehawk 2600 cat. Money is tight and this is the first time I've had to give up a toy.
It's a very clean boat. The motor was swapped out by the guy that had the boat before me (switched from wimpy 350 to 454), so the new motor has less than 100 hours on it.
I just installed a 700+ watt stereo with 2 subs this year.
Everything works on this boat. The only thing I wish it had was Gaffrig gauges and a clear title!
Of course both of those can be fixed with money, but that is one thing I don't have right now.
I've posted a web site that shows lots of pictures and additional info.
The link is www.netprofithosting.com/firehawk (http://www.netprofithosting.com/firehawk)
If you want to get in touch with me, feel free to email kevin@netprofitservices.com
Thanks

What kind of speeds did you see? How built is the motor, what hp?

I have not dynoed the motor.
it's a merc 454 with holley double pumper carb.
has eldlebrock intakes and nice exhaust manifolds.
So all in all, basically stock.
With current prop setup (bravo1 24p), it maxes out at about 60 at about 4200 rpm.
With optimum trim/load/fuel - I've seen 67/68 out of it at 4600 rpm.
With prop and pitch adjustments I think you could see several more mph if that's what your after. Or of course drop a thirsty motor into it. This boat works well for me b/c it does great on gas (for a boat) while cruising down the lake at 45.
I'm thinking I'm going to test a prop or two this spring just to see what changes I receive. The way it's propped now is perfect for me, but others may want it setup a bit different.
