The launch winds are now 28 knots at the pad. They have been increasing over the past hour. Forecasters say there's a 70 percent chance the winds will be "no go" for launch

HOLD EXTENDED. Launch is being rescheduled for 0633 GMT (8:33 p.m. local; 11:33 p.m. EDT) to wait for the winds to decrease. That is the end of today's available launch window, meaning if the Delta 4 doesn't fly then it must wait until tomorrow night.

Classified satellite to be launched on Delta 4 from Vandenberg
Associated Press
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. - A new generation rocket carrying a secret government satellite will make its West Coast debut on Tuesday.
The Boeing Delta 4 rocket was scheduled for launch between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. PDT, carrying a payload for the National Reconnaissance Office, which builds and manages the nation's spy satellites.
The Delta 4 launch signals a military shift to cheaper space boosters.
Last year, Vandenberg launched its final Titan rocket, marking the end of an era for the workhorse rockets in favor of a new generation of rockets like the Delta 4 and Lockheed Martin's Atlas 5.
At 20-stories high, the Delta 4 will be the tallest rocket to fly from Vandenberg.
Delta 4 rockets have been launched five times from Cape Canaveral, Fla.

We were looking toward the North when our neighbor saw it heading in a southwest direction. Our view was somewhat impaired by the clouds, but saw the second stage burst and the remaining vapor trail(?) cloud looked neat as darkness settled in.
Overall it wasn't that spectacular - at least not compared to the 3 I have seen before. It hauled some tail though!
