Does anybody have an experience with lift kits for Dodges? We have a 2004 Cummins 3/4 ton, 4x4 that I'm thinking of putting a 4" lift on. We can't go any bigger or it won't fit in the garage.
If anybody has any names, kits, products, tires, wheels, shocks, whatever, could you please share?
Pics would be cool too if anybody has them.
Thanks in advance.
Toby

Here is our 2004 CTD. I went with the ProComp 3" kit in the fron and the back is stock. The kit comes with the MX6 Adjustable shocks. The tires are FC II 325\60\18 (33"x13.5 wide) the wheels are 18X9 with 5.75 BS. You could get away with 6" BS with a 11.5 maybe 12" wide tire. i went with 33" tires for a few reasons, no gear changes, don't need a ladder to get in, off road capabilities, less wear on the drive train. Hope this helps

Here’s a pic of mine: it is a combination of Lorenz, Thuren Fab, & some custom parts. The wheels are 17 X 8.5 with a 4.5 bs Weld Sand Storms with a Toyo Open Country A/T 325/70R17.

If you have the money I would take a look at the Kelderman Lifts. They ride better, and you can go from 4" lift to 12" lift with the switch of a button. Just have a compressor onboard. It will handle the offroad just as well as those other kits do, actually even better. Unless you get custom stuff done most of those other mass produced kits are kinda cheesy. Be carefull on the hieght you lift a dodge though because you may spend your time taking in and out the front drive shaft. Dodges arent like the Ford and Chevy where once its out of 4wheel it will have a freespin bearing. They keep spinning and will evenually wear the joints down. I had a 10" on my previous dodge and would keep the front drive undaer the back seat and put it in when I would need 4wd (mostly in glamis)

Hey UNION -- If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for the new one??? I just blew my motor on my 04 CTD and am going to get rid of it. Want to get one of the 4wd, ctd mega cabs. Im sure Daryl probably told you about the problems I had the last time with Power Dodge Ontario!

Thanks guys, keep them coming.
The most I would ever use it offroad would be in about 1" of powdery dust where my wife brings her horses to do the gymkhana stuff! Nothing major in the offroad department, it's mostly for looks and the fact that I'm bored and want to play with something.
Great pics and links.

These are the only two options i'd even consider. Now that Lorenz also has a brand new 2 stage rear FULL pack that allows for a towing configuration and an off road / comfort configuration. It should really make the suspension perfect. Not to mention the SAA shocks are damn nice.

KELDERMAN are nice kits and I was gonna do one but one thing turned me off which is there is alot of moving parts and stuff that has to be checked alot or should I say frequently. When I drive I drive its 500 miles to Havasu for me I have had my truck 4 months and got 12k miles on it. I dont want to be driving out to havasu blow an air back or break a value or loose an air line or whatever else that could go wrong to delay my trip,. But the kits are very nice I just dont think they would do me any good as a daily driver.

e4l, My business partner has had his kelderman kit on his truck since it was brand new and he has 25,000 miles now. The only thing that failed was the Stock dodge steering box.
