My buddy has a punchy 454 with a panther jet. How much performance is he losing with this set up? Do they make a energizer kit?

there is quite a bit more info needed.
The biggest question is, what does he want out of the boat speed wise?
what kind of a boat is it? size?
As far as an "energizer" kit, he can send it in to Panther to have a wear ring set-up installed but I've heard some good and some bad results from that.

He is at 62 now and i think would like to see 70-75, 1978 Tahiti 19'.

although we are not using the board anylonger, you can get all kinds of info here

we're kind of in the process of moving all the info to our new board

You posted in the other forum , when you hit 60 the motor would "rev" to the red line...That is happening to his boat! Any thoughts?

has the pump been taken apart to check all the clearances? It could be that the clearance between the impeller and the housing is too big. It could also be that there is a cavitation issue from any number of things.
where is the boat located?
