George is gonna spank you when he sees all that water comming out of the headers. Dry n Hot at idle.
Sounds sweet, he built my last blown deal too.

Yea, thats what I thought. 2k before you see water, right? He was out there (Georges shop) the night before for the first start and he said it ran like that the whole time with out anyone saying a word. That was the third start. He has a billet valve at the drivers seat that needs to be played with.

Awesome! What causes a bitchen surge like that in some blower motors and not in others?

i am going to stick my neck out here and say.i have herd it is the barel valve needing adjusted/too much leak at idle past the valve.it is running too rich and it picks up speed into the main circuit and leans out and drops RPM into idle again.i could be wrong.

Thats a carb motor, no barrell valve.I feel the surge is from a lean condition at idle (carb tuning). Some try to get rid of that. I love it, and always try to tune that in. Sounds great, nice motor..

I thought it was a combo of a lopey cam and the blower stuffing the intake.
The builder seems to say it runs perfect.
BTW... First weekend out over the 4th. The boat is a 21 open bow carrera eclipse. A/B impeller and the hook shaved. Motor is a 468 with an 871 on it, estimated 800-850hp. He easily ran in the mid 90's, which is a 25 MPH jump from the mild 454 he was running, but also before all of the pump and bottom work.
He wasn't ready to see a GPS number.

Not the cam at all, it's the blower creating a rich/lean condition.
Timinator could tell you how to tune it out but personally I think it sounds badass. :crossx:

Why would the George intentionally let it run rich and lean out? He tuned it at first start up. I have heard a few of his motors and they all have this lope.
I agree... the sound is awsome!

Its no biggie unless your trying to time the lights on the hold rope and putting it in gear and getting a perfect reation time, then it can become a real issue that needs tuned out. Otherwise enjoy the cool sound.

Sounds great!!!! A blower will surge more or less depending on how hard you overdrive it as well.

That sounds very cool. Watching the video clip he should build a guard for the alt. pully spinning out in the open right next to that rear bench seat, one good bounce over a swell/wake and sombody could get thrown right into that meat grinder :220v: Just a thought.
