Question on a potential purchase

Looking at a 2000 Baja Islander for a friend. has 300 hrs, 454, decent exterior, needs new upholstry on engine cover, tandem trlr, $26000. They do not need or have to have it this summer, think they should wait til the market cools. I am a jet boat guy, so I don't know much about the Bajas etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
