Lake Havasu City has doubled in size in the past 6 years... Population wise..
Home and land prices have at least quadrupled...
Lake is so busy -boaters can't get on the lake...
So how have we been hurt? The rest of the country should wish for such growth - we just had a study done regarding the boating industry in Lake Havasu.. (not counting tourism) just building, maintaining, storaging, etc. This marine industry brings in almost 200 million dollars to the local economy and has grown over 80% if the past 6 years..
LHC is doing ok..

Good for the ex mayor. Who hasn't gone on a little coke and booze binge at the river. IMHO that is some of the best Havasu has to offer. Why shouldn't Melanie Grinstead-Hanak take part in the fun we all get to enjoy. What pisses me off is that she married some pussie whipped dude that allowed her to hyphenate her last name.......

She did! I was there :) I dared her to do it and she asked if the "girls gone wild " crew was there to film it.

One of the problems with cities, towns and school systems across the country is that they have become too big for the average politician to have a clue how to manage the responsibilities and the huge sums of money.
Imagine being on the school board in Los Angeles with millions of dollars to manage. If you don't have business management experience at a large company what are the chances that you have the ability to manage the school district or city effectively?
Probably none.

Did I miss something here? This was a FORMER council member what thr F--- does that have to do with anything in Havasu she`s not in office, made a mistake. The problems in Havasu are way beyond this back page sad story. I have to laugh when I read many say our town this and our town that---It`s your town when you earn your living there and live there 24-7 don`t blow into Dodge with a Piss-Pot full of money in your hand spend a few months a year and then pump your chest up and call this our or my town.People who have lived in Havasu for years can use that phrase.

You have got to be kidding me, being from Vegas (the town that was founded on hooker's and blow) we see this all the time. Two judges have been arrested for "entertaining" hookers in the last month. One family court judge was arrested for domestic violence, and it seem's like at least three or four times a year some teacher is tossed in the big house for extra curricular activities with one of the students. It is just the decline of the western civilization..........................

So how is it that the town can, as uncle larry notes, rack in 200 million dollars from boating , yet they can't seem to build a new "boater friendly marina" !!!! I find that truly sad !!!! Bad enough that Winsor is getting so run down, must be from lack of funds.............
Maybe because it is going up somebodys nose

I just thought the thread title was a little off, and the only reason for my comments.
