Divers Have Recovered One Body from Castaic Lake Boating Accident
CASTAIC LAKE — 01/18/02-Divers at Castaic Lake have recovered one body and located another after a boating accident that claimed the lives of four men last week.
The men had been testing a new performance boat when it capsized last Friday. The body of one man was recovered shortly after the accident.
Family members had hired a private firm to recover the wreckage after sheriffs' department divers said they couldn't reach it in the deep waters of the lake.
The men have been identified as 41-year-old Ken Lane, of La Crescenta; 38-year-old Steve Coulombe, of Agua Dulce ; 30-year-old Nelson Roy Brinkman, of Phelan ); and 47-year-old Chuck Weisman, of Castaic.
The lake sits about 30 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
