Went to the river yesterday, The motor started and ran fine but about halfway up river to where we normally go it started to miss a little and I couldn't get over 5000rpm. On the way back she really started missing and at one point died all together. She started back up and we began to limp back to the boat ramp, it wouldn't get over 3000rpm at one point. Then it would run fine for awhile then start missing again. When I got it home I pulled the plugs and everyone of them had oil on it. I cleaned them started the motor for a bit and it ran better but still not good. Pulled the plugs again they all had oil on them again. I have been running the mixture at 50:1 cause thats what I was told to do to be safe. Is this too rich?? Or do I have some other problem??
As always any information will be very appeciated..
Thank you,
JB

Could be a lot of things. If it runs decent under 3000 rpms it could be the high side of the stator. Get a manual and check it out.

Check the fuel pressure, if you don't have a guage, check the fuel filter or the water separator or both.
