I'm selling my 2001 HTM SS-24 if any of you are interested or know anyone that might be. It's the fastest single carburated SS-24 ever tested at 107 MPH. It is featured in last months Family & Performance Boating Magazine. It has a 700+ HP HTM Racing 565 ci motor with an HTM Racing XR drive. Only 40 hrs and very very clean. Anyone interested can call me at 626 695-1218.

Why are you selling it? It is only a year old

Is that motor blown? I originally had a 565 built by Ken and on the Dyno only came up with 639HP. So probably only 580-585 at the Prop.

BPT I had my motor put on the dyno when we got done with it. It is a 540 full port and polish with larger valves on Edelbrock RPM heads. Port matched team G intake. Crane 139741 hyd.roller .620 lift. 10.1 comp. 850 Barry Grant flowing 930 cfm. My dyno was 683 @ 5680 (not taken any higher) and 676 @ 4700.
I wouldn't think you would loose that much at the prop. 454/365 went to 350, 454/330 went to 310. I would think it's more in the 25 to 35 hp loss at the prop. I'm not sure on this one though.

I am selling it because I just bought a larger boat, and unfortunately can't pull off to payments. I love my HTM, it is the best boat that I have ever owned, however the ocean is calling thus I had to go bigger.
The motor is a Ken Lane HTM Racing built 565 cubic inch single carburated, solid roller set-up. Aluminum heads that have been worked on and a bit more compression than what he normally builds in his standard 565 package. Also, the cam is his own grind that he hasn't reproduced. This motor runs great and ran this boat at 107 mph at 6300 RPM.

What prop and drive ratio?

Tom Slick

1.50 30 pitch.

MIKEHTMSR24

That would put you at 11.5% slip. Sounds like good #'s to me. but Please don't get me wrong.
My buddy's 25 single step Eliminator 622 ci dyno 830 @ crank, N/A, solid roller cam, full race alum heads and port matched intake, 10.5:1 comp.,cam around 650, 1350 Demon, 2" Imco shortie, 30 lab Bravo 1 with 1.36 gears, 5700 to 5800 on a 90 degree day @ 800 ' elevation does 108 on it best day.
I don't want this post to sound neg. If that HTM is hittin 107 be very happy. I know HTM's ads says over 100 and under 80 k also.

All I can say is that the numbers don't lie. Family & Performance Boat Magazine tested the boat in the February issue and recorded 107 MPH on radar and 105 on GPS. I personaly ran 106.3 MPH on GPS. 700 H.P., 3600 lbs boat, 1.50 gear, 30/31 lab prop. Maybe it's the efficiency of the hull.
Any way you look at it, it is a great boat, in excellent condition. If anyone knows someone that is looking, they can call me at 626 695-1218, or e-mail me at jmracing@jmracing.com.
Thanks

Mine was setup a lot more conservatively than Tom's. Only had 8.5:1 compression in anticipation of adding stage 3 procharger. It ran a 1050 CFm at 6100 97 MPH on GPS No Load,no gas perfect day etc.....
With the Procharger 1.26 Gears HTM XR outdrive 26 Pitch prop I'm still breaking in the motor so I haven't pushed it over 5500 RPM 111 MPH But a hang on ride getting there! Acceleration from 30-95 is awesome.
By the way nice write-up in reader rides on your boat. Speed safely!!! BPT

Steve told me mine boat came in around 3900 dry. That's for the reply BTP. We have an SS on our lake and he is running about 72 to 73 with a 23 pitch Revolution 4 four blade. This blade swings like a 24 Bravo 1 but is a little faster. About 2 mph. It has a straight hub like the Hydromotives. I think his drive is a 1.36. At least that is what is stamped on the drive. Does the 1.36 sound right with the stats above?

We are estimating that we saved about 300 lbs in the layup of the hull getting it to around 3600 lbs. We used some carbon fiber and kevlar in the construction, for strenghth and weight savings. It could weigh more, this is just the weight the Steve estimated in this layup.

T.S. Mine is a SR so your SS should be the weight you claim.

Chris,
I know a guy who might be interested. He needs to know your price range?

I have started asking $79,500.00, but will take any resonable offer. To build this boat new today would cost roughly $92-95K. I bought it new in July, so it has very little time on it (40hrs).
HTM Lady,
Have you been out to the lake lately?

Turns out the motors in the new boat are junk, so we are trying to figure out what we are going to build and put in it. I'm hoping to have it back in the water mid June.
What are you thinking about getting if you get a boat?
We are going to meet up with some friends out in Havasu this weekend, but the usual crew won't be making it this trip. I'm going to come back early Sunday to pull the other motor out of the boat and get it torn apart.

I got a couple of pics of your new boat that I will email to you next week. They came out good.
What is wrong with the motors in your new boat? It sounded healthy to me when you fired it up in the channel.

SVO 540,
It was good seeing you out there last week. Your boat is sick. It looks even better in person. Sunday after we saw you in the channel, we headed up river and blew a motor. It's kinda of a long story about the motors that are in the boat. Lets just say that I got screwed. Anyway, it gives me a good excuse to build some good motors for it and get the MPH up there.
Magic Potion,
No not the same guy. My name is Chris and the boat doesn't have any graphics on it. I do know who you are talking about, and his boat is very nice.
HTM Lady,
No real bites, but alot of interest. I will take any reasonable offer, as I need to sell this thing ASAP, because this new project is not going to be cheap.
I was surprised to see that Darrin got his boat running already. We had a good time.

Chris,
I will keep the word out for you on the boat. Glad you guys had a nice time. I had a great time with my girls at Buena Vista. You know how persistant Darrin is when it comes to his boat. Hope everyone ran good. Look forward to seeing you over the summer.
