HAMMER DAY 2006
Well Scott and Sam have set the date! The 10th Annual Hammer Day will be August 18th - 20th, 2006!
What is Hammer Day? A gathering of locals and guest on the Ouachita River to commemorate the passing of Herman Smith, a.k.a. Hammer August 27, 1996.
The main events will be on Saturday. Folks will be running the river all day, some racing in the 3 to 5 PM range and a BBQ Cookoff. Give Sam a call if you want to enter the cookoff. Judging will be by the spectators. Other events will be posted at a later time.
Location: Hwy 63 between Hermitage and El Dorado, AR where it crosses the Ouachita River. North bank, right under the bridge. Primitive camping on sight is free courtesy of "Driver". Camping with facilities is a mile away at the Morro State Park.
