Some of you know I got rid of my Mach 26 a while back...well it was to get some windshields :) ...I have to thank XFactor for giving me the tour back in March around his F26 and that got me thinking and his help since then, and thx to Charlie for helping me get the deal kicked off. Thx to Cobra for giving me a concept I could work a DCB version from and Thx to DCB for working with my wife and I to create our dream rig (for now)...These are some pics of the new rig we will get to run around Parker with...Some answers to questions:
Size: 26
Power: Twin Blenders (300x's)
Stereo: Nothing too elaborate...just their new Phase IV system
Delivery Date: First couple weeks of September
Also, since I am a couple hours away from El Cajon, if any of you board members are down in DCB area, please take some pics (tell Dave I said it was ok) and either email them to me or post them on this thread...it would be a big help. These might be the only pics for a couple weeks until I can make it back down..
Hope you enjoy the pics as much we did we did first time we saw her out of the mold

just another note! The mach F26 is the widest boat in DCB's line up as far as I know. I don't know the exact measurements on the F29 but I'm gonna guess that it's equal to if not less than the F26

Congrats MBrown--that is beautiful.
Besides the LA Show, I saw my first one in person yesterday at Lake Pleasant with two 300x's. Beautiful.
XFactor- the guy that I saw with the F26 with 300x's was had a yellowish tribal with gray background. He said he knew you and expressed how sweet your boat is in person. He seemed real cool and also real young. That gives me more motivation. This person ring a bell? Towed it with a Yukon on 23's or so.

Roln 20s Mike,
That boat is beautiful. Can't wait to see it completed. I'll be at DCB in a couple weeks to pick-up my boat. I'll snap a few and send them your way.
Roln,
That is a buddy out of Phoenix. He is very young. Just turned 24!! He and his brother are partners on the boat. Very good guys. I love the graphics on their boat. It's one of my favorite F26's. At least it was one of my favorites. Now I might have to lean towards Mikes new ride. :D :D

I plan on buying a new cat next summer, so then I will be the young new kid on the block- 23 yrs in March. Not sure if you talked to him yet, but when they were turning to back down the ramp, they turned to sharp and the fender clipped a metal pole. Looks like a new fender is next on the list.
When I make it too Havasu, I'll have to check your boat out in person. All the talk of it, plus the Mag, plus MBrown now buying one, wow--it must be nice.

Hey guys thnx for the comments...my wife and I are pretty happy with the way it came out...once they rub it out and get some more stuff in it, hopefully it will look even better. Can't wait to run it.. :)
Xfactor, I would appreciate any pics
JRocket, we must have missed you...Black...Huh!! j/k
Kab, I would take the dimensions off, but it won't help...they cut the open bow wider on the F to fade out with the lines of the sponsons. On the mach the lines just run straight back towards the helm.
Also, I think they screwed up on the ***boat test dimensions. I am almost positive that beam is equal to the mach...they did tweak the bottom but did not make it wider.

Phat cat the F and Mach 26 have the same exact bottom.... The F-29 has a wider beam but the F-26 is the same as the mach. As far as working out flaws ... I'm not sure what that could mean, in fact I'm not real sure Dave really said that..there is a little porpoise at 65-70 in the boat but it's nothing dramatic, short of that this bottom is EXTREMELY STABLE and VERY capable of being stable at high speeds. Once again Mike.... boat looks awesome, congrads to you and the mrs. :D

If this is wrong then I think ***boat should start laying a few people off. The 112 # was mention in an earlier section of the article on page 24. 11 inches is a lot to play with and I'd really like to hear what dave did with 11 inches on the same hull.

If it's printed in the mag then there's a pretty good chance that it's wrong. Technical accuracy is not one of their strong points. Call me crazy but I would trust the manufacturer's numbers more... And by the way DCB's websight lists the beam on the F34 at 108". I seriously doubt that the 26 is wider.

I think ***boat needs to make up their damn minds on how big this damn thing is. Now they say 102 inches. I don't know which #'s to believe and DCB's site is so out of date that I can't check for an official # and can't find any site other than ***boat that actuallly has the #'s. True MPH numbers on the F26 are 109-111 with a closed bow in good conditions (cool weather and low weight). Mine is loaded with weight and open bow and it's seen 105 in good conditions. My boat is the first F-series with an open bow so not much to compare too. I'm carrying an additional 350-400lbs in stereo. Almost 200lbs of that weigh is up front. I'll bet Mike's will see 107 max.

I have sat in the passenger seat of this F26 at 109MPH at Elisnore. Whats wild is that the speed is very deceptive. 100 mph DOESN'T FILL FAST in this DCB eek! my slow little MACH22 at 80 fill's (seat of the pants OFCOURSE)faster. This F26 is so fast and soooooo smooth....speed could get way outa controll. gotstabe carefull!

I went down to DCB this morning, I tried to cut into the line and buy the boat that was pictured above, I think I have Dave thinking about it! lol
I Actually was there today and finally was able to see the mach 26 up close for the 1st time. Well all you people were correct, that fricking boat is AWESOME. I spent about 2 1/2 hours there and came away a DBC fan. Unless some freak of nature happens, I will be ordering my Mach 26 in late Sept. I'm very impressed with Dave. I really liked the 29, but to us poor folk the 26 will just have to do. CEO

CEO,
Good luck if you go with the 26...we had a Mach before we built this boat, and it is a great boat...after having that boat, could not believe I boated in anything else for 15 years..
Also, for you folks with the sharp eyes you will see the White 29 with the 900's and 6's in the background...that boat is getting dialed in after the first trip, and I hear it is really running good...the 29 bottom appears to be perfect for any power and either bravo or 6 six drives...no tunnel tab's needed..

I was in full boat "checking out" mode. That ride of yours is pretty awesome! I was talking to the carpenter guy, I told him I needed some customizing done, A seat under the cuddy and moving the ice chest. All kinds of things, he said, "That's why we are called, "Daves custom boats", that was the right answer. I'm very happy with the boys there.

Mike,
Boat is looking REAL nice. What is the square cut-out to the left of the stering? Is that a depth finder to the right?
How far behind in rigging is the 29 that's next to yours? That's the one getting twin 300X's right?

mbrown2

X,
Thnx, The square cut out is for the switch panel...the switch panel now looks like the 29's with the ignitions built into it....that is a depthfinder to the right.
I am not sure how far that boat is behind...I thought they went into the bays around the same time, but their were no motors on it as of Sat. Yes, it is the one getting the twin X's...Pretty boat, nice yellow fade on the dash...

Mbrown2, very nice. Them boys at DCB keep uping the bar. So tell us about the stereo, there is a reason for the generator. I know it's not for the blender, because you have 2 of those already and they run on gas. :D

BF, Thx for comments...they do continue to refine their skills down there....No big secrets on the generator, but I post pics once it is complete...I went with a generator w/outboard Xantrex charging system so I would only need two battery's and even with the generator option, I am still only at the weight of three batteries, and have lessened my worries about going dead.
This is the first generator they have done, but when you see the install, you would'nt know it...Better than any generator install I have seen yet, and definitely at the level DCB continues to set...Everything is getting dialed in tomorrow, so I will take some pics over the weekend....The system is not as elaborate as some on this board, but I was worried about 3K watts killing my batt's...

I've got those same props. I think you can spin them to redline in cooler wheather. I'm getting 98mph/6300rpm with 4 people, full tanks and other weight in the baot at 1002 degrees. I think their 105-107mph in cool weather and a lighter load. I also have 28 chopper 2's. They produce great bow lift but slow the boat dramatically. Same conditions as above and I'll get 92mph/6500rpm.

I'm getting 98mph/6300rpm with 4 people, full tanks and other weight in the baot at 1002 degrees. I think their 105-107mph in cool weather and a lighter load. If I can go 98 at 1002 degrees, I will be stoked but fried...j/k

Good point. 98 at 1002 would be awesome. Do the math. That means abots 220mph at 102 degrees. WOW, my boat really is awesome :D

Hey X-Factor....How's it going? Mbrown2, we have a Mach 26 with X's and run merc 32 four blade cleavers. So far in the Havasu heat we've GPS'd at 106 mph at 6600 RPM. We have 4 other friends who have mach/F-26's and they all run the same props as us. Everyone of us were running 104-106 mph all summer with a regular load. Just some food for thought, good luck with your awesome ride!

Boatjob, thx for the info. Dave puts the 3 blade's on the open bow cause I think it helps with the bow lift...I am going to break it in with the 30's and then try a set of 32's once the engines break loose...thnx again.

Nice to hear from you Boatjob. Mike is right, Dave goes with 3 blades for bow lift. I've tried 4 bladed 34 cleavers and 3 bladed 34 cleavers on the same day in the same conditions. I switched with a friend who has a F26. Mine performened better with 3 bladed and his was better with the 4's.
Mike,
I've tried 32 3 bladed cleavers. I don't think they'll hit the rev limiter. Not enough difference between the 32's and the 34's.

Mike,
I've tried 32 3 bladed cleavers. I don't think they'll hit the rev limiter. Not enough difference between the 32's and the 34's. From what I've seen from testing props, 32 four blades are optimum for closed bow F/mach 26's.We have a bud who has an 03 mach 26 open bow, but he is running 32 bravos (not much help). We also have 32 three blades that I tried to run this summer, and I can't say much about them. Yes you are right, they do create more bow lift but at a somehwhat big sacrifice. I could only spin them up to 6050 RPM running right at 100mph. I think it has to do with the shape/ cut of the ears on the three blades, they just aren't the four blades.

Ok, boat was delivered as scheduled, and during the first trip, there were no issues to speak of...just goes to show you the quality they put into their boats. I put 12-13 hours on the boat, and still was not able to rev all the way up on the boat...with three people, two full ice chests, and two full tanks of gas we ran 97 at about 6200 in about 102 degrees heat....Hopefully I will see some good running conditions in the next couple of trips...I only ran 90+ a couple of times all week; just did not feel comfortable without some better lifevests...need to get some Lifelines before I do some all out runs....
The Outboards feel alot lighter than my I/O did...takes some getting used to the trim settings...it likes to fly as you trim it up..
Running behind canopy's is great...but is also deceiving, at 70+, I have to look at the guages and at the persons face in the open bow for cheek flap to know we are going fast...you can run all day fast without even turning your hat around...One time, I was doing 90 without glasses and not even feeling it
DCB did a great job on the boat, and if anyone is going to be at the river/lake when we are there, I would love to show you the boat for you to see level of detail..
I was too busy driving her to want to take pics, but here are a couple of pics from the week...I will try and take more pics this weekend.
Oh'yeah, one last thing...dual outboards are alot to clean after a day on the water, or a couple of days left in the river (thx for the headsup Kab)...lots of hardware on the back.

Quick pic of the generator install (yeah; that's their first install; check Deron's custom exhaust setup that is rated for the heat discharge)..from the outside, it looks just like an extra Bilge dump...
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/17PICT0081-med.JPG
And when I went to DCB, all I heard was Dave don't like stereo's....after experiencing their phase IV with generator option, I disagree...they do some trick work, and our install hit hard and sounds great with either Johnny Cash or Manic Hispanic.. :)

You've got to be kidding me with that stereo installation. Dave doesn't like to install stereos? I suppose your pics would suggest otherwise. It appears the boys at DCB happily went way overboard with their effort. That install is coming from a custom boat builder, not shipped off to a stereo shop for who knows who to climb all over your rig. Freakin bitchin. Even the battery switches are recessed? Way too clean. How did you like the way the generator kept that batts up? And Mike.... don't think were not noticing those "empty's" on the back bench. It looks like you got the billet can crusher option installed as well.
