Some of you may know that I have a section off my website where you can ask me questions on boating and other law enforcement related subjects. I've also got a lot a flack about pop-ups and other advertising from it, due to it being one of those "free" discussion board deals.
Well, I've changed forums and put up a more user friendly version, a board similar to this one. So if you're looking for information, feel free to come on in.

I know this is directed at me due to my pm this morning. :crossx: :crossx:
BTW I added another question to it earlier in case you missed it...had some confusion from your answer. :boxed:
This is what I added...................
"It is illegal to operate a PWC between sunset and sunrise or during periods of restricted visibility unless the PWC is equipped with the required navigation lights."
The above statement is from the AZ Game and Fish boater's guide so now I'm more confused. If it is illegal in CA then does the above negate this? The pwc is reg. in AZ.
See, to be more specific on the use I'm interested in, say I'm at Black Meadow Landing/the channel/casino after sunset and I just want to get to the launch ramp; not out "playing around"...this is why I was concerned about the laws on this.
Thank you
R

Let me check it out. Are you trying to post one as an avatar or included with
a post?
EDIT:
It appears to post a picture OK in the message, but I also had a problem with uploading the avatar to the server. I ended up using a link from a outside host.
I'll have to look into it.

Problem posting with a post.
I think the open IMG and close IMG prompts are appearing together.

I use SMF on a board I run and I have the same problem. I always upload images via FTP and then link to them.

Does an OUI affect your Drivers License?

Does an OUI affect your Drivers License?
In California, it can. If there are any prior DUIs or OUIs on your record, a new OUI can result in License Suspension. Or if there are no priors, it could be used to suspend in case of a future DUI/OUI.

The other way they're recorded is in Criminal History files (Rap Sheet) In order for domethiing to go on your criminal record, there has to be a booking in jail, fingerprints, photo, and paperwork from arrest to jail to court to DPS Records.
If someone is arrested but not convicted or no charges filed by the DA, does that still show up on their rap sheet?

I believe that it show up on the "Rap Sheet" as an arrest, (If they were booked at the time) but it would be noted that the charges were dismissed, found not guilty or whatever the disposition was.
As far as OUIs on the Driving Record, they only show up if there was a conviction.

The boat under power has the responsibility to keep out of the way of boats not under power. However floating in such a way to impede traffic is illegal. So someone drifting in a narrow channel, so that other boats can't get by, is illegal. But that still doesn't give another boat the right to run them over.
An exception might be if the boat floating isn't displaying any lights at night. But, it's every boat's responsibility to proceed in a reasonable and prudent manner, and striking another boat, object or person is an indication of excessive speed for the conditions.
The only absolute exception to this are what's called traffic separation schemes, leading into or out of major coastal harbors. In these areas it is illegal to float, loiter or otherwise remain inside the shipping channels.

Thanks for the info.

Does my trailer lisence plate have to have some sort of running light to see the plate at night, or is that only for auto's?

All license plates must be lighted at night.

I am curious about one thing. Oklahoma does not require licenses on trailers. What are the odds that I would have problems with that in areas where law enforcement are not always aware of such things.

You might get stopped with no license plate on the trailer. It would be a good idea to carry a OK DMV guide that states they aren't required with you when you venture out of OkieVille.
Don't they have any title or registration on OK trailers? What happens if they're stolen? How would anyone prove ownership?

Boat trailers, car haulers, and all other trailers, except travel trailers, that are pulled by non-commercial vehicles are exempt from registration and vehicle taxes. They are ad valorem items. The trailers have serial numbers in most cases, and bill of sales will show that information. At one time, it was required to put a SSAN on trailers, but that was declared illegal (thank God).
We do things differently in several ways. We do not have sales tax on cars, boats and boat motors. We pay an excise tax at the tag agency when we register. The good news is that it is a lot less than sales tax, but it cannot be included in financing like many do. The excise tax is prorated over several years until the value of the item reaches a certain value and then you pay a minimum fee. However, we do pay sales tax on the trailers.
