Bob Leach is premiering his new carbon-fiber, 33' Daytona at the Heatwave Poker Run. The boat is powered by twin 900SC's and the new "Extreme Advantage SC" IMCO drives. Fred Inman states the drives, which are fabricated by IMCO and not Mercruiser, are the most efficient on the market today. Inman continued the same drive recently pushed a 25' Daytona to 144.5, shattering the record for a single engine cat.
According to Leach, the IMCO drives and carbon-fiber hull knock off about 1200 lbs from the previous model with #6 drives. The IMCO's also require less power to push them, and with more efficient power to the drives, Leach is estimating the boat should run a solid 140-160.
And yes, the boat will be driven by the king himself.
This run is really coming together now, with 3 manufacturers premiering new models (DCB, Eliminator and Schiada). Kinda like an on-the-water boat show, West Coast style!!!!
Check out the list of boats pre-registered, quite impressive:

See ya at the show!!!!

There have been some guys running the smaller jetboats and v-drives there who survived the days events http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Hey Craig,
I read the Daytona that did the 144 only beat the record by 1 mph. Shattered?? http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
That boat also supposedly had a transmision in the stand-off box and was unavailable to the public at this point. The Advantage SC that IMCO had at the last poker run had the standard gears, albeit XR, and shift mechinism in it. Did they change it around or is just another type of "SC"? 33 out of carbon fiber should fly!

Hey Craig,
No, I believe the drive is the same (Fred said it was the same drive from the display at the last run). Maybe Burtandnancy could clarify this, he seems to know quite a bit about the Imco drives.
Leach said one of the benefits of the IMCO's was the fact there are no transmissions, so I don't think his boat has them. I'm not a tech head, I could be wrong on all this http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
BUT
The word "shattered" came directly from Fred, I just quoted him. RD was also bustin' my ass about that!!
So what's up with your rocket, have you defused the napalm problem and are you bringing it to the run??? That thing is also scary fast http://free.***boat.net/ubb/eek.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/eek.gif

If having some serious BAD-ASS boats show up to the run isn't enough to get everyone’s attention listen up!
Chris Prouty at Prime Post Productions has announced that he's bringing "High Definition" video cameras to shoot professional quality video of this event too! According to Chris, "It's an overview of performance Power-boating - a portion of which will feature AHBA at the poker run" that will air on a cable channel that features high definition video format programs.
Can't wait!

I don't think you'll see IMCO's record setting package in Bob's Daytona next week. Some of the information, as I said in another post, wasn't really public knowledge at that time. Also, the Daytona will do well enough as it is currently rigged. Unfortunatly, the triple engined Daytona owned by Fred Inman won't be making a showing next week. Our loss, thats someting to see and hear...

See....I knew I could count on Burt to fill us in, he always seems to know the scoop (how do ya do that???) And when are you going to convince Nick Barron to come on board?? Inman, Leach and Pfaff are in, we still need a couple more of those good ole' boys!!
I tried to convince Fred to disregard that Nascar thing...he just wouldn't do it.
So Burt, you coming out for the run, or is that also top secret??? lol
Got a call from a certain Skater dealer in Texas, seems he's rounding up a posse, including some boys from Mead and their Skater's...o.k., who are they???
And lastly,
Donnie,
Marv is one of you CAT guys now. Damn trader, he should be required to have a keg onboard for everybody to enjoy for his betrayal (after boating hours of course).

The "fire hazard" has been repaired http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif It's at the shop now getting new carpet. Pick it up Tue or Wed and bolt all the interior and misc bs back in. Yeah, we're planning on stopping up for the run to see all the boats.
Later.

What most people dont seem to realize is that the AHBA poker runs are the real deal.Everyone with a vested interest in performance boating (boat builders, motor shops, etc.)is gonna be there. Thanks to the efforts of Jim,Art,Craig and the whole AHBA crew this is the one "cant miss deal".Even the people over@ OSO who seem to look down thier noses at the west coast stuff sit up and take notice.East vs.West coast for bragging rights.Bottom line is that there is gonna be a bunch of bad-ass hot rods at Havasu on the 26-28 of April.

I believe the Skater from Lake Mead is George Marnell's. That is one fast machine. Cliff

The 33 Daytona will be powered with stock MerCruiser 900SC Poker motors from Bob's old 36 Daytona Poker boat. Drives are the IMCO Advantage SC on Boxes. The boat was rigged for the Florida boat show with stock 496 Mag HO's and ran 103.
