What a phenomenal weekend (but long as hell) on the water. First off, Martinez was a blast, with a bunch of ***boat peeps out there. AvengerBabe (total hottie BTW...) Moneysucker, Mandelon, GrapeApe and others were all out there partying in style. Weather was flat out amazing, and as is the norm, we hit the sandbar hard! Clearlake during the afterhours was absolutely amazing as well. We met a ton of new great friends (Scotty, Dale, Gill, Nate-Dogg, Mike etc....) that we will be hanging with a lot in the coming months. Scotty has the craziest golf cart I have ever been in, and is a big reason I want to get a damn Rhino now!
Here are some pics of the Sandbar on Saturday and Sunday...

The pics pretty much show how humid it was... It was the first time we have ever not filled the boat, but filled the water behind the boat with folks...
After the weekend in Martinez, we towed the boat home and went out on the bay for Tuesday's 4th of July festivities. I have lived here for 10+ years and had zero idea that the party was that huge. 625,000+ people were in the Mission Bay/Pacific Beach area on Tueday. Frickin crazy! We pulled up to a beach that had thousands of people, no stereos... So, when we rolled up to the beach cranking out "Hot In Here" the entire crowd erupted. David, one of the folks here at Trident and Grape Ape who joined us again had staked out a spot for us on the beach so we already had a basecamp established amidst the chaos, but then as luck would have it, it got a lot better than even that...
Right next to him, and I mean right next to him was a very good buddy of Craig's and mine from the Teams who had set up their EZ up the night before. So, we not only rolled up to our own tent, but also about 20 Navy buddies with a whole pile of extremely, ferociously hot women with them. So... instant party, just add music. Which we did with aplomb. We then proceeded to take 5mph tours of the entire beach (at about 20 feet from the shoreline) with all of our buddies on board. Rocking the beach. Everyone had a phenomenal time, and I remembered quickly what a great group of folks my old teammates were, and how proud I am to be part of that whole community.
Once the sun went down, everything went off the hook. We had skipped out to go to a nearby house party for an hour or so, and when we came back it was growing dusk, and again there was this huge party with no music... Again, we fixed the problem, but this time with the party lights strobing away and some John Digweed/Slacker jamming. The totally cool thing was, the hour long set intros with Pete Tong introducing the set, and then announcing that for the next two hours you would be hearing John Digweed and Slacker. The crowd absolutely erupted! We sat there for a little while jamming and then pulled out and watched the fireworks from about 300 yards away!
(And yes, I know that in one pic the boat looks overloaded and unsafe... But with 9 of the 27 folks being SEALs who have done 3+ combat tours and their girlfriends, who do you kick off? Plus, we were literally 20 feet from shore the whole time in waist deep water. I am personally impressed that the boat doesn't show hardly any draft issues considering what I would call an overloaded condition. Still bobbing high and dry though, with complete control and steering.)
Amazing weekend, absolutely phenomenal 4th. Enjoy the pics...
