Could have been much worse, the Gelcoat got f'ed up.
Repairs almost done, I'll blend in the black w/base coat...then a full wet sand w/1000 and a nice clear coat over the whole boat.

Repair work is done...now on to wet sanding the top, sides, and transom...also the front under half and then it's clear coat time. Were using a clear paint that's used for aircraft...if it can hold up to 300+ mph speeds in the air it should be ok for my junk :rollside:

Ray, good luck on blending that black in ......and I don't think I would 1000 the boat before clear thats a no no ...the clear needs a little courser paper to adherer to, try 600 you will thank me later when the clear don't peel off  just my o2,later

I hear ya mark, If the blend doesn't look good...(and we'll know right away) then we'll shoot all the black w/base coat. And I'll probably will wet sand w/600.
The repairs looks flawless...I long boarded the front section several time then did a guide coat and final primer, wet sand w/400 not one flaw...perfect!

Did full Black Base Coat on boat...
Clear is on...a LOT of work still left. More dirt in the clear then I would have liked. Much blocking down then compound/polish to do  .

I won't know until I do a test area...meaning a 2'x2' area, fully blocked down and buffed. > this will happen later today.
I've personally sprayed clear that flowed so nice it didn't really needed to be touched. My feeling, the reducer was too fast for the hot temp conditions. We got 2 heavy coats on, just need to work it out. If by chance it's not PERFECT and I'm not happy with the (top) deck after the test area...then I'll redo it...simple as that.

Looks really good in the pics. Gives me the idea I should have you shoot down here and give mine a paint job, lol.
Paint/clear wise, what did you use?
