Breaking News - 3do Offshore Racer

Looks like our beloved Three Days Only has added offshore racer to his resume, as he entered Maximus in the Catalina Rum Run this past weekend. I'll let him fill in the details, but from the sound of things a certain new airplane and a 36 Spectre are more then likely going to be dropped in favor of a race boat. Stay tuned. :rollside:

Slow down slick, the airplane is not going anywhere, I pick her up in the beginning of September. It looks like a 36 flat deck / 6 drives / 525's for supercat lite is in the very, very, very near future. Jimmy Stewart (Driver) & I have offically become one of the teams with Pacific Offshore and as soon as a boat arrives OSS is next. The next race is Pittsburg, CA (sp).

We got her to go straight during the race. 3rd place in our class. If we wouldnt have broke maybe we could have pulled first in our class maybe. We got our shit together about 6 miles off catalina before the first turn. Ran along the island in great shape, trimmed nice flying straight, then made the return turn to long beach and the gremlins took over my bilge about 6 miles off avalon. Bell housing coupler let go!!!

Third in my class via DNF, we must have just broke down further along the course then other guys did!!!! We dont even no what class we were in!!! It was extremely fun though, Im hooked.

We saw you make the first turn outside of Isthmus. Sorry to hear that you DNF'd. It looked like you were haulin when you went by us... very impressive :D .
I wish we would have gotten a little closer to the course so the picture would have been better, but its the best I could do with my 12x zoom and the rocking boat :cool:

Pittsburg (kilo & the race) for sure, then off to Vegas!!!!! Everything will be ready to go in the next three weeks.
Looking for a supercat lite boat as I type this. Your the driver, go on a diet, we are going to need all the help we can get. :rollside: LOL. On a serious note Jimmy you did great for never driving a cat in the ocean ever. We were making up alot of time at the end of the first leg. By the turn at Avalon we were on the gas and getting used to only having half the control of the boat running in fairly rough water. You let her run hard and only corrected when she needed it. For two newbies to offshore racing making it as far as we did, I was impressed. You got to think also, this race was not on a closed course with turn bouys running multiple laps. It was open water and the ocean was changing constanly. Im looking forward to a good year with OSS with you in the driver seat next year. Just got to find a boat.

Jeff it was a real bummer when you broke. You were runnig damn good and it was keeping our sticks in it. I was really looking foward to the last mile drag race that was bound to happen if you were to make it to the finish.
The water was rough the hole course but after running in 25 miles of 8-10ft rollers with a 4-5ft wind chop the 4-5chop seemed smooth the rst of the 50 miles.
Cant wait to do it again. Much respect for the off shore racers know.
Poker runs are fun but no where near the rush we recieved on sunday!!

Im looking forward to a good year with OSS with you in the driver seat next year. Just got to find a boat.
