Craig

Ricks not allowed to play on the internet at work anymore :D He didn't even know he had the dreaded red X until a few minutes ago!!! 24 Rod, it's a 25. Rick bought it without a motor and is taking the blown 454 out of his Sleek and putting it in the Daytona. Charlie, the shortblock's done. He went down to see Larry for a run on the dyno. 454 w/ 250 blower. Well, after the motor was open up for a look see, he's got new cam, pistons, Brodex heads, seawater pump, blah blah blah :D Welcome to the shop of the Evil Toymaker wink He should end up with at least 700 horsepower on pump gas and reliable.

Great looking boat>
I think I saw that same boat at the Magic Powerboats open house on Saturday. It appears to be in great shape. I had a friend with me who will take it off your hands right now. He loved it.

F**king red x's!!!
Thanks for all the acolades, you guys!! Very much
appreciated. Yes, Risky, it's the same boat as at
the Magic open house...a friend & I stopped there
after picking up the boat 'cause he was working
the open house. We both ended up working 'till
almost dark before we took off for home with a
quick stop at In & Out!!
I'll keep everyone informed on the motor progress
and like I said, THANKS everyone!!!!!!

Congrats Rick! Sorry i couldn't sell you mine but looks to me like you got a better deal by looking at that beast. Man that 25 looks large on a triple axle trailer. Why did they put that trailer under it? The rest of 25 to 26's only have twin axles.
Looks great i almost bought one just like it in Clear lake tx for $49k with a 454 with a procharger. 1999 model.
Very nice

Actually, if the engine is blown, it's moving more air through it, therefore sucking even more!

Blown23Vee,
That Daytona is bad ass. Can't wait to see it out at pleasant. When is the maiden voyage? I love that trailer, it looks so awesome. Does the back of it have a little drive guard, LED lights, or what? It is extended right? Looks awesome, what do you tow with? Sorry for the 101 questions, but just want to know what I am looking for at the lake. Enjoy it.

:D Well, I'd say since mine is blown, it operates under a postive pressure above atmospheric, while yours, relying on the vacuum developed by the downstroke of the piston alone....therefore sucks :D
Just messin' with ya' Brian! Blown or not, you could easily dust my little boat off any time the waves kick up on the weekend!

ata-boys, appreciate it. Just can't wait to get
the motor back in & use the beast!!
Well, Brian! Leave it to you to give us the
"technicalogical" version!! Just jokin!! See
ya soon!!
Hi, Roln! Presently towing with my '97 Tahoe,
9 inch lift, 36" swampers. Color is what Chevy
call "cherry ice" whatever that means. Sort of
a light metalic purple (not as bad as it sounds!)

Roln 20s The trailer is pretty trick...since the picture
it's been powder coated yellow to match the boat,
the steps at the back are custom adds with new
diamond plate. Makes getting people in & out real
easy & makes cleaning easier. On the front there
is a custom ladder up to the open bow. The whole
front triangle of the tongue swings away if you
are trying to park in a garage. Kinda cool.

Just messin' with ya' Brian! Blown or not, you could easily dust my little boat off any time the waves kick up on the weekend! Ah yes, but you forget that since the blower is forcing more air through the motor, it is pulling more air into its intake, hence the need for two big carbs instead of just one. Therefore, more sucking!!!
Hey someday we gotta hook up a tow rope to your cat and get my slug up over the century mark!
:D

Pleasantcat,If I am not mistaken Ron Shaver(Shaver Specialties)motor. That guy used to build some serious badass stuff for the outlaw sprint car crowd...
Blown23v,
That new piece of yours is one flat out awesome looking boat(what type of outdrive you running?)
Scoote69,
I talked to a guy yesterday who had a custom cover made for $650.00 for his Daytona.I can give you his number if interested.

pleasantcat
02-03-2003, 05:40 AM
yes deep shaver built my engine. he builds the herbst offroad team engines as well as any play toys they have. ron has built some ford plant for one of their offroad projects that made 700 plus ponies with no blower. the amazing part of that is that this motor can do this at high rps for very long periods of time. ron knows his stuff

Bill griffin and I were at eliminator on Dec. 31st and saw one of them being rigged...I did'nt like it very much, but then again it was not completed yet either. The front of the boat looked pretty cool, but the back was very weird looking.
Guess I will have to see one completed.
