We will be at Lost lake for 6 days the last week in August. Spaces P-14 thru P-16 at the boat launch. I will have the new hardware installed and tested, so the boat will e.t. much better than this last time. Should run better mph also. Any time thru there is good for me. RR

There are basically two places to launch, Fisher's landing and Martinez resort. Fisher landing has 7 ramps. Both also have gas and a store for goodies. From what I am told this place loves small boats and is manageable on regular weekends. From what I hear there is a pretty big sand bar to hang out at. As for places to stay, you can camp east of the store at Fisher's landing, Martinez resort as well as you can stay at a hotel at the Freeway (I-8). I think there is a couple at pretty much each exit. From there it is a 45 minute drive to the ramps. For myself I plan on getting a room either at martinez resort or off the I-8 here is a link to martinez resort http://www.martinezlake.com/ to find out more info. All this info im providing is based off what I have been told and the research that I have done if there is any other ideas from any of you post it on here Im am planning this for the weekend of August 19th

Also the water will never be an excuse for not running your boat hard. Lastly, driving to a hotel off the 8 freeway is a total buzz kill after a day on the water not to mention the bar is off the hook.

hey Chris, trailers are around $100 sleeps 4 and you can park your truck and trailer on the side of the trailer pretty good deal , walking distance from the bar. Hope to see you down sometime

You going to race Ming in Sept? or IHBA in SD? I heard they might run a gambler class? I will wait and see can't beat the drive a lot shorter than Ming, 20 mins for me...

The pontoon would be sick. However there are a dozen sand bars right outside the launch ramp were the water is good on any off weekend and they are so close you don't really spend allot of time looking for good water.

Well looks like the scoobinator won't make it to the river the girlfriend and I are split up and had to move out of the house as always I got screwed I had no place to keep the boat no garage that is and a storage unit cost to much to put it in so I had to take the boat back to Seattle and put it back in my garage there. Seems like everytime I go down that way, it makes no difference what time of day or night it is, there's always traffic. Towing in traffic really sucks.

Everyone should launch at Fishers! Beer, ice food and AVgas on the ramp and the time depends on how stupid the bar is the night before.

Once you get out of el cajon you have smooth sailing all the way to the river. Just watch for the cops in the desert. Radar detectors are a good idea. Imperial county tickets are fairly expensive. DJ, Martinez ramp is a stone through from your rental and Fishers landing ramp is super close too. Fishers is a better ramp becuase you don't have to idle for a long time out to the river. When you get there check in and just ask anyone how to get to the Fishers Launch Ramp

DJD if you go straight toward the bar called "The other place", that is where Fishers is. instead of turning right to go to martinez, they are about 1/2 mile apart. The parking is better at fishers too. The ramp at martinez is only 2 lanes. Gas is right in the launch line at Fishers too as well as on the water. The noise is not a big deal, I will be running my zoomies that weekend.

Psycho Squid or bottlefed may come on with the place to buy gas there, I have seen it by the DMV but don't know the name or their days of operation. Fishers is in a little cove (no current) easy no hassel launch. Also there are sand bars every half mile or so on the river which are good if you need to stop and tighten bolts etc. also everyone usually goes up river and if you run out of gas just make sure you have plenty of cold ones for the float back to the ramp.

From many, many past experiences before we got our own place at Fishers, I would highly recommend bringing your own sheets to sleep on. The bungalows are in a great location though (stumbling distance from the bar) and Martinez is full of great people, so you all will have a great time. Just wanted to mention the cleanliness issue so that someone isn't snuggling with roaches. Maybe I'll see you guys out there... If you see me, say hello!!
