Would a 450 pound hull make a good durable rec boat or would this be too lite?

i use mine at lake pleasant all the time.it is like an ocean.just be carefull on how you drive it.they are a little flighty when you hit roller going fast,but mine is 450 pound hull and does just fine.make sure you got good bow supports.
