Hello,
I have a Hallett v-drive flatty and the cam is wiped out.
The motor is a 396 with TRW pistons with the part # 23479.
I cant find any specs on these pistons but the heads are closed chamber, ovals, 98 CC. I have 185 lbs compression in the good cyls so I am pretty sure the compression is up there.
Running a tunnel ram and 2 660 Holleys on premium pump gas.
Anyone have an idea of a good affordable hydraulic cam??
Or anything out there used with matched lifters?
Just a lake use boat that I actually am looking to sell.
Be good, Jim

280 moves the rpm range up to 2400 to 6400rpm. Do you run it to 6400?
