Great pics. I thought I was having problems keeping the pictures on the wall in the garage waiting for Mudsharks to deliver.

I guess it was a good decision for me to keep the boat out of the water yesterday and stay in the pool most of the day. That was some nasty shiat out there :crossx:

Well I will say that was an older 80's toon (2 Toon smaller logs) but I wouldn't have wanted mine out there for comparison....

We were in a pretty protected cove about 1 1/2 miles south of Steamboat and we got slammed!
By the time we got ready to go, it had pretty much passed. It was moving so fast, we saw white caps in the main channel before we EVER felt a wisp of wind. Pretty wild.

We pulled out at around 4pm and it was quiet but you could see the storm building over the mountains. We had waves in our small pool.

Squids came in from speed alley .............WoW we made it to the channel. There was no way we could get on the trailer. Thought we would wait it out. Best decision I've ever made... :clover:

wow :( sucks to see boats actually went down due to that storm.
that storm came in like a freight train too, it was nice and peaceful one minute and it felt like our trailer was gunna blow over the next. luckly, we were off the lake with our tiny 17' jet boat and back at home in desert hills before that hit.

That was crazy, we had just trailered the boat at cattail, when the wind hit. The whitecaps on the lake were incredible.

Ok, so lets say I am floating in Copper Canyon or Gasoline Alley, I’ll use these as an example because a lot of folks have been there at least once..and one of these nasty monsoons hit, would the boats be relatively safe back in these coves? I understand the waves on the lake and on open beaches but would the same “washing machine” effect be back in the coves?
Also, what does a guy do once his boat goes under and he is on the beach…I have never had this happen. I would be lost in more ways than I can imagine..

Re: GA....If I was in there and a monsoon hit real bad I would head towards the back corner and things should be OK. If you are out in the middle of the cove a lot of boats (assuming other boats are still in there) would be blowing around and into each other. The back of the cove would be relatively safe but of course if others tried the same thing it could get pretty hectic. Dirt would be blowing pretty hard back there also. Put your bimini DOWN ASAP.

What the heck is the matter with people? Do they not have the common sense to know that that thing is a sail in the wind?
Heaven forbid they get wet. Can't let that happen

This type of boat driving was made popular by Fast Freddie. Just put the bimini up and hit the nos and you're gone.

We were at the Nautical when this blew in. 3 boats went down right off the beach. I rode it out in the middle waiting for the trailer.
Pretty crazy how fast it came in.

I was pulled up on the beach at the turtle. As luck would have I had an Advantage Party Cat upwind of me. I helped him stake and anchor down then cudled up next to them.
That was one of the worst storms I have seen in Havi. Friggin came up fast. The waves in Thompson looked more like the northshore Pipeline!

Looked worse earlier. Now, it's sunny, no wind, and beautifull.
It sucks living here. Been here over two weeks now, and have only been on the water twice. Moving sucks, and moving in sucks too.
