We are supposed to pick up our new 2007 Eliminator 25' Daytona w/525 (500HP) this week (open bow estimates 80-82 mph only) and we cannot find insurance! We've tried everyone people suggested on here, and the only one that would even give us a quote finally was Markel @ $6000 annual. That's crazy (and equal to 6 mos boat payments too!)
We have excellent driving records, are a couple in our late 40's, and have cat experience and 15 years boat experience. The loan company is requiring the insurance.
Seems like 26' is the magic number to class it differently. Anyone with similar specs that can provide us your insurance contact, we really need your help!!! How disappointing this late in the process to run into this.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Advice to others, if you're on the fence with buying a 25' or 26', wish we'd gone 26 now. The 525 doesn't help either.

Who do you have your home and car insurance with? Set up a meeting with one of the big names and offer to move everything over if they will insure your boat. It pays to have it all with one man or woman. I have a 24' HTM Cat with a Mercury 600 SC (on paper). $1275.00 a year (Allstate)

THe only two people that I do business with is Shawn Wilson listed above and http://www.worldwidemarineins.com/contact.html. Other then that best of luck to ya. If one of those two can't help you then I would say throw in the towel and start your own company. Be sure you stay away from The water safty foundation or WSF insurance. Not a legit company.

I have an new alternative for boats 26ft and above up to 120 mph. Much lower rates than the only alternative that we all have been able to use in the past. If interested pm me or call my office number (928)505-2394.

Don't take this the wrong way, EJOH. But did you check about insurance rates prior to buying the boat?
