I like the alpine amps because of the very small size and they seem to be very effeciant on power usage.1manshow

PDX they are very nice
What about Zapco or Crossfire? Both are very nice American Made Amps with the Crossfire being a better bang for the buck solution.

The Zapco DC Reference (aka Digital Reference) are awesome amps.

I will probably be the only one to say Rockford. But if you have ever heard John's (Force offshore) boat. In fact after we did his boat using those amps, we did ALL force boats using the ROckfords and have never had a problem with any of them. I would say you would have a hard time beating the power series amps form Rockford.

I vote for JL. 2nd boat I've had them in and zero issues. Even when mounted with no venting in the Ultra my 500/1 never overheated. RF in the same location was always shutting down.

These are the amps I was talking about. Rockford got rid of the "waffle iron" quite a few years ago now.

Internal fans and no external heat sinks.
