Ditch Those Points

Has anyone used the Crane electronic ignition conversion?? What do you think? Is it worth it or should I just save up for the MSD?? Thanks in advance. :) GJ

I just saw the olds ignition thread, but can anyone elaborate on the install a little more?

I used the xr-1 module and it seems to be workin just fine

It goes in pretty easy. You have to remove the points, condenser and ground wire on the breaker plate. Then you attach the heat sink and then the module (4 small screws). It has two wires that come out of the module that you feed out the bottom of the dist and run one to the neg side of the coil and the other goes to an ign source.

I couldn't figure out a simple painless wiring harness for my jeep , so I'm no wiring wiz but that thing was easy and it's got a rev limiter in it too.
