Anybody know about these?
Apparantly Donzi made a 23 foot Sport Deck from about 98-2000 or so. Appears that most of them had a 5.7 in them Setup is similar to a Chaparrel Sunest. Bottom is a V with steps.
Have a friend that is looking at one and it's hard to figure out what price is fair for one of these. Found 3 in the boat trader ranging from 15k to 30k.
Thanks for any info.

Figured if I put "Tom Brown" in the title, I would increase traffic to this thread.
Anybody know about Donzi's venture into the smaller boat market. It appears they made some 16 footers and such that look more like production boats.
Trying to find out if these are hand laid or not.
Any boat info out there or has it been swepped away by all the drama? :)

Use caution when looking at the Donzi Z23 deck boats. Donzi had problems making the hulls and most ended up having gelkote problems. The high spots on the deck are low spots when itÂ’s upside down in the mold. The gelkote would puddle in these spots and end up too thick and crack. Donzi eventually gave up and stopped making the boat. Otherwise they seemed to be good boats, heavy and built to take a beating. If he finds one with some time on it and no cracks it might be OK. They should be OK once they stress relieve.
All of Donzi's stuff, big or small, is hand laid with the exception of some of the smaller components on the boats, hatches, liners, ski boxes, etc. Donzi started with the Sweet 16 in 1964 and still builds the same boat today called the 16 Classic. They also build the 18 & 22 Classic and then the bigger ZX & ZR stuff, currently up to 43'. They got out of the family boat business around 2000.
