How much does it cost to have an MSD ignition system installed?

Parts and labor or labor only? Do it yourself. If you don't know how, find a buddy who does. They all come with easy to follow directions.

MSD is easy. do it yourself. It is free to install. I put a whole system in a friends in 4 hours. Just start out with the dist at TDC drop in the new DIst, Screw the box in where you want it, cut the new wires, Wire it up and go to the lake.

Thanx guys. I dont know anything about ignition so would rather have someone who does put it in. I have some friends that would say they can do it but I wouldnt let them touch my golf cart. Which MSD set up should I get? I have a 19' CP with a fresh 468 Chevy in it.

I've had good luck with just the plain-jane 6AL box and a billett distributor, with a mallory coil.

if ya don't want to spend the money for msd, i've installed a couple of the proform msd knock kits recently and they worked awesome!!!here's a link to the bbc kits(dist.,msd box, and coil for under 320.00):

the distributor is a nice billet piece and has a good advance curve already installed, didn't even have to recurve the ones i installed.they also make a hei dist. that is sweet too.my next boat will have all proform ignition!the price is nice and parts work just as good as msd, without the price tag or msd badge.i know msd systems are the shiat(i run msd), but not everyone can afford it,this is just another option that's better than stock.

460 jus getn it

i have had several msd boxs and in different set up and things i ran then in only ever had two problems and after having them sent back and gone through both failures were due to bad ground!!!!!\
make sure its grounded GOOD and you will love the set up to me its one of my first upgrades i do so that all i do from then on is that much better

if you dont want to run a box, MSD has a ready to run marine distributor #msd-83606. its a little more money but less than adding a box. ive heard many times that the boxes fail and they blame it on getting wet, i say thats a crock-o-dung. as mentioned allready, make sure you have a good ground and USE THE RUBBER INSULATORS when mounting it.
