I have a 17' Stevens flat V-Drive with a Big Block Ford EFI(427, 428, 429?) B&M Ratchet Shifter, C-6 Transmission, 2 blade Prop, Rewarder Wet Headers, etc. What's it worth and is anyone interested in buying or trading it for something more family oriented? Please contact me if interested.

I have a 63 Stevens with a 401 Buick that has been in my family since day 1. I wouldn't let it go for less than 10k. If yours has a 427 side oiler then it is at least worth 6-7k if in good shape. http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/524/453redrock21-med.bmp

(Having trouble uploading a picture to the web.)
I live in Seal Beach, California next to Long Beach. It's in Orange County.
It is supposed to be a 427 EFI Ford. It looks to be re-powered in 1968. If so, that may be consistent with a W block 427. (Is that right?) Otherwise it may be a 428 or 429. I have not torn it down to see. The run time on the gage is about 44 hours. The motor runs hard but now has been stored for a few years. I am willing to sell or trade it.

A 427 or 428 will have the same look from the outside. They are considered the FE style engines. A 429 is in the same family as the 460. I think they were called a 385 series engine.

Yes you are right, the 429 is in the 385 family.

Also, the only difference between a 429 and a 460 is the stroke!.. :)
