Has anybody had a problem when launching your boat and when you start your engine and it felt like it was in neutral. My problem is that air is trapped in the pump and has a hard time getting primed has anybody installed a bleeder on there bowl or inspection plate cover to bleed the air out does anybody have pictures of that I can see or do you have any Ideas to help me out.

I've seen this advertized at the following site. I've read that priming can be a problem in some applications, especially when a droop is added.

Good luck,

Order one of these from HTP. They work great. Never any wait time...just start your engine and go. By the time your boat is backed into the water the bowl is full. I cant recommend it highly enough

i have the same problem, sometimes it takes a couple min. to get the jet pumpin water.
will this bleeder work even if the inspection plate is inside of the boat?

it installs on top of the bowl, not the handhole. doesn't matter if the handhole is in the boat or not.

does water come out of the bleeder when your running it?

no. only air comes out of it. pump water hit's the ballcheck, and it closes.

Mine takes up to 2-3 minutes before it primes itself as well. Its kinda frustrating escpecially when the engine starts getting hotter. I am going to pick up a primer ASAP.

Pull the bowl off to drill the hole so you don't drill your impeller. :)

If I ever get the motor to stay in the boat I'll get to play with the hardware.

Any grindings that get into the bowl at that point are not a problem. They will just blow out the back. But, if you are worried about it, just hold a shop vac hose up against the drill while you drill and tap the hole. Here is the instruction sheet
