Sept 15th-17th the OSS races are in Las Vegas Lake Mead this weekend we want to get the Cats and Tunnels nation out there to party to watch the races and party. One of the places to stay is Green Valley Ranch fun times pretty cool place too. I'm going to hook up one of those party buses to go around Vegas and I hacve hook ups to all the major clubs Sat night so if you into it pitch in. I wanna get a list of people to do this.

Just an FYI. If you are taking your boat to Lake Mead, make sure your insurance carrier knows. Most companies don't care but there are a couple that need to have that location endorsed onto your policy.

Rocky....I am going to be staying at GVR at the end of August for a few days and going out on Lake Mead. When I have been there before I have had to park the truck/boat in the lot outside the restaurants. While nothing has happened to it before I am still concerned about theft. Where is the best place to park while there?

I've never stayed there before so I don't know. When we go in Sept we are going to leave boats at a buddies house in Henderson. Put a cover on it and it should be good.....

Talked to Kevin Cooper from pacific Offshore today and the special event person at Lake Mead and the race is on there schedule for Sept 15-16-17 .Location is near the lake Mead marina in the special event section .Have not heard from anyone else .When I spoke to Kevin he was on his way back fron the OSS race and said there will be info posted later this week about Lake Mead. I was asking him about the PittsBurg Shootout on the delta as I am going and want to make The oss race in Lake mead also.

Wayne, I know the SCOPE crew normally parks their boats and stays at the Fiesta in Henderson on Lake Mead. You can contact any of them....they will probably know. It's still a 15 minute drive to Lake Mead Marina....one of the two places bigger boats can launch.

I confirmed also that the dates have changed to Oct. 6, 7 & 8th. The race will also be for the national championships I belive, I could be wrong, but thats what I was told. That should confirm alot more boats also. Plus thats the same weekend I was already going to be there for something else. SWEET!!

I just called the GVR and they have two places to park boats. Both have security drive thru but moreso on the weekends. There is an overflow lot that is closer to the hotel and seems to be preferred by boaters but does not have cameras. Seems it is a lot easier to fill ice chests/get into your coolers, etc. It has less foot traffic going thru there. If you park outside the restaraunts you get more foot traffic, have a longer walk to your boat but the security drives thru more often and they have cameras.

FYI- GVR is doing some major construction by the parking lots with a new addition. Parking can be severely limited at times due to this. It has been a couple of months since I was there, but it was pretty tight in there due to the construction.

Sweet, im staying at the Wynn because of the Ferrari Formula One Run which is going on the same weekend. I belive they are all going to the lake on Saturday and hangin out at the AMF camp. Marc helped setup some stuff for the Ferrari guys, should be cool. If we take the kids we are going to leave the car at home and fly up there in the plane. If we fly we will land at the Henderson airport and we will come visit you over there at McCherries pad. Looking forward to a fun weekend. What day are you going up???

I think the actual race starts at 4pm on Saturday and then noon on Sunday. I could be wrong though.
