A 22' tire is going to be HUGE first off. :D
Secondly, unless you're doing a super duty Ford/4500 GM style HD 22" wheel it seems to me that there isn't much sense in putting an E range tire on a regular 22" wheel as I don't recall seeing many 22's with that kind of weight rating, then again, I've only got 16's on my truck. :D :D :D

I know it does. That's why I'm suggesting you check the weight rating on the wheels before you try and find tires that will look really great when they pass you going down the road after your wheel cracks. ;)

in regards to passenger tires....you will not find a load range e or 10 ply....in a 22.5 they start at load range g which is 14 ply or h being 16 ply!! i would however check month to month due to the strong demand for 20 inch and 22 inch tires...as im sure a vendor sooner or later will be upin the ply ratings!!

Ken,
When I was looking at these, I went with the 20" Nitto NT404. I think it was a 325/60 R20. It had the highest weight rating of all that I was looking for. I towed a lot with it, including my last 34' boat and my 30' Toy Hauler. No issues with them and seemed to work well. The max load I think was 3100 or so, and your boat has nowhere near the weight on the front of that thing to be 3100. The toyhauler had much more wieght up front than any boat I had pulled.
Check the Nitto Terra Grappler 355/60/20 that is 3600# tire, but the overall height is over 36".
Nitto Terra Grappler 325/50/22 is a 3300# tire and just under 35" tall.

Yeah but it's an at tread Mike, I can't stand the road noise and I'm willing to go with a smaller diameter just to get away from it. I would love to get some Michelins in a 20 or 22.

In that case, the Nitto NT404 did well for me. Get the size with the highest rating.
