where do i connect all my hoses I have 2 connections on the water pump plate and 2 on the intake and i have basset headers is it ok to just plug the 2 on the intake and use the 2 on the water pump cover it is a ford 460 just bought a truck engine till new engine gets finished all the hoses are there just cant figure them out

The two on the plate are the inlets. the two on the intake are the outlets.
Water flows through the block up through the heads and into the intake and out. If you plug the connections on the intake , water wont circulate through the heads and you can imagine what thats going to lead to.

do the headers go on one of the pump block offs and the other out the back ?

you need a bassett T valve on one side of the intake outlet and lines going from the T to each header, the other fitting on the intake outlet goes overboard. the drawing shows bassett T and 2 gate valves
