My wife and daughter are getting more and more into wakeboarding. I've noticed the rope dragging in the water when attached to the boat. I need to get a pole installed on the rear swim deck of my Conquest. What's out there and who would you recommend. It needs to be removeable so the boat will still fit in the garage.

I think Dana makes a removable one....

Dana does make removable pylons. I have installed quite a few of them on jet boats, but never on any Merc. Package. Basically it bolts to the heads on the motor and the block. It then has poles going back to the exhaust manifolds or intake manifold for extra support. The height will be determined by how high your motor sits and how high it is off of the sun deck. He also makes another one that is specifically designed for wakeboards. The only problem is that this one has additional rods that must be installed for use. (see pictures below)
I have never seen anything that I would think would be strong enough that would bold directly to the swim platform. Motor is the only way to go in my opinion.
This is one that Dana Makes

We install a removable ski pole for our Conquest Deckboats that goes in the
middle of the back seat and you can use it with the bimini top open or closed.
It's so strong in the mount that you don't need a strap or cable going to the
front of the boat. When it's not in use, it stores under a seat in 2 pieces.
It's mounted with only 2 pins. Quick, neat and strong.
Let me know if you want one!

Keith, that's perfect. I'll get a hold of you to set it up. How long will it take, considering my bench will have to be re-done?

I've seen a couple mounted on the swim step, that looked great. I wish I'd a talked to the owners to see what the dealio was. Don't want it in the back seat or through the engine hatch. I may just be s.o.l.

I've never seen anyone throw a cockblock on a ski pole before.

I don't have any photos of the inside mounting, but it is secured inside the engine compartment with a lower support. It lifts out if wanted. I would think you could adapt it to your boat. The small triangle bolt mounts between the outdrive and exhaust are securing the lower support. I've seen a couple mounted on the swim step, that looked great. I bet you could make an adapter for a stripper pole for that ski pole and rake in some big bucks.

That right there is what I'm talking about. Thanks for posting the pics. Unfortunately, my swim step is out past the eng. compartment, so I wouldn't have the same installation method available. Damn.

Who said I don't like midgets? Actually I don't ski much behind the boat, but it's great for a handle climbing in the boat as Advantage's ladder is on a terrible angle to climb in. We've found stepping on the outdrive and grabbing the ski pole is a lot easier to get in the boat and for the record the prop isn't labbed saving the foot cuts.

Ok, you did it now. I finally got a new "River Dave" slogan for my sig line (see below).:D  And maybe I could get RD up on a wakeboard....
And, as mentioned by someone else, it could double for a stipper pole, which is always a nice accessory!
Now I just need the new boat to go with it!
