This is the Cats, Tunnels, Rhinos and DCB Drama section right?
Just bought the Rhino (06) from local dealer 4 weeks ago. Took it out on a few trails, burned 1/2 tank of gas and in the shop it went. I'm doing the build myself. Planning an LTR long travel kit, wheels, tires, front and rear seats, stereo (maybe), cage, bumpers, paint and lots of other goodies. I need all the advice and suggestions I can get. PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE help with any ideas or suggestions you may have. I'm new to the Rhino gig. I was itching for a project and thought this would be fun. Really looking forward to the final outcome. I've got some real trick new product from BASF for the paint work. This stuff is SUPER bling bling. You almost need welding goggles to look at it in the sun. Should be fun :D
HereÂ’s a few pics of the start:

It's DCB's for sale section....
First thing I'd do is put wheels on it because it's a little tough to drive the way it is right now... I'd get a hold of Evo 22 he makes the best cage IMO for the rhinos and he's a one stop shop... Rhino (http://www.longtravelrhino.com/)

I bought the suspension, seats, wheels, tires, cage and bumpers from EVO/LTR. He's been a 1-stop-shop so far.

that just about sums up building a custom rhino. nobody understands how much $$$$ you can and do throw at these things untill they do it themselves. Ask everyone who has built a pimp golfcart, most will say they should have bought one already completed. Good luck with your project X, IF mine doesnt sell Glamis season will be a blast this yr.

CommanderHB

Look under your driver seat. If its empty you will need to fill it with 100.00 dollar bills. Once its filled to the top you will have a complete rhino. Elka Elite Shocks 46mm 4200.00 ouch

Not even close. I could possible have the suspension back together this week. I'm waiting on the roll cage and bumpers so I can paint everything together. Hopefully they'll be delivered today. They were supposed to be delivered last week.
Oh well, just another delay.
I'll post some pics when something goes back together.

I'll be painting the suspension, roll cage and bumpers this Saturday. I hope to get the suspension back together next Saturday. Here's some updated photos. I've decided to paint just about everything. Realistic goal for completion is September 2. Still need lots of little goddies like, CDI, stereo, speaker boxes, overhead lights, extra battery ect.....

Hey Michael....keep us up to date on how things work out with the motor upgrade. I haven't heard much about people doing this yet so I'm extremely curious how they hold up and how much performance gain you see.

Looking good so far. Are you doing the long travel?
I just installed the long travel from Evo (LongtravelRhino.com) and can honestly say I was blown away with how well it worked. I was expecting an improvement but I was not prepared for how well this thing soaks up the bumps. Got it done late Friday and took it to Havi, made a few early morning runs down the washed out, whooped, rocky powerline roads and never lifted off the throttle. I used to have to go 5-10 mph over those roads and I think I was in the 40 mph range the whole time with the new susension. Sorry not to hijack your thread. Just wanted to share how bad a$$ the kit is. Good luck with the build and thanks for the pics. Keep them coming.

My buddy has done 2 of them now with 2 different builders. The 3rd one is getting done now. Mine goes in next month.
Gets about 39 HP to the rear wheels and tops out at 64 MPH. :crossx:

686, new carb, bigger radiator, and a couple of other things. Runs on pump gas too.
The first one had to run on race gas.

Painted the suspension parts, roll cage and bumpers Sat. 5 1/2 hours in the booth just applying base. Another 1 1/2 clearing on Sunday. Glad to be done with this part of the project  I hope to get the suspension back together this week, paint the plastic this week and graphics next week. Then reassembly. That should be real fun trying to figure out what goes where :rollside:

Install was about 4 hours, taking my time. Not to difficult and it's pretty self explanatory. I went to longtravelrhino.com and printed out a few of the pics from there. Hardest thing was locating the mounts for the shock reservoir, not a lot of room. I have a few photo's but the Rhino is in Havasu now. I'll get you what I can. PM me an e-mail address to send to if you get a chance.

It was pretty much done 3 weeks ago. Brian @ LTR took it to the SSS show and I just picked it up Thursday. Saturday was the first time in the dirt. WHAT A BLAST !! My wife calls it a spider. Shes says it climbs anything. I was amazed at how it rode over the rough stuff. Seems the faster you go, the smoother it gets. Drove it around town alot (without registration ). I was shoched with the top speed. 51 MPH with 26" tires. I've only done a CDI and intake filter change. It's parked in Havasu and still needs the light bar, front bumper lights and stereo and it will be ready for the winter.

Not digging it at all. Didn't like the graphics from the time I pulled it out of the booth. I was trying to match what I was planning to do on the boat. The boat design has changed since I painted the Rhino. No orange, yellow or lime green on a DCB. How freaky is that. :rollside: I'm going with alot more color on the Rhino. More stripes. No flames.
