Never drove my boat so much in one day. :crossx: We launched from the Avi and cruised down through Topock Gorge, the water was beautiful nobody out there...

Back at the Avi headed for Davis Dam and getting a bit stormy

Hid out from this sand storm for a few minutes just north of the Avi

made it to Davis Dam
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/1653Lauglin_06_034.jpg
Floated back down by the Casinos and watched the rain and lightning in the distance. All was quiet in Laughlin too....

Getting dark..better pick up the speed if we're going to make it back to the Avi. You can see that Laughlin hotel that never got built on the right.

Don't know how far it is but it's far. Really didn't know if the boat would even have enough gas. After all the driving we decided to put the boat in on Mohave the next day. Found a private little beach and did nothing all day.

All in all probably one of the best river trips I've ever had. Just me and the wife, no crowds, calm water, no worries. Enjoy

Just mapped it out on Google maps. From the Avi to Havasu Sandbar to Davis Dam and back to the Avi, it's approximately 102 miles. :rollside: :crossx:

It was storming all around but we never hit rain once and the wind stayed pretty calm.

Excellent photos, they're classic pics for sure. I like the POV of the bow of your boat... We just did that same loop but went from the Casinos to the Sandbar and back. I figured it was around 100 miles but since you did the math we were probably just shy of that.. I love the Topock area of the river, simply beautiful... Good times
Thanks for sharing your pics.......

Nice pictures Mike we made the same trip on the 7th a little more traffic left over from the 4th but still a great ride. How much fuel did it take for the trip to the sand bar and then to Topock? It usually takes my Southwind about 9 to 11 gallons of gas to get to Topock from the AVI.

Is this the boat that had the write up in the Truckin magazine?
This is the hull that mine is a copy of. Mud Pumper, if you don't mind me asking, how does it run-handle? Its a beautiful boat, I am gonna paint mine similiar, but blue and white.

Yes, this is the boat in Truckin Mag. It runs and handles great. Best riding 18-19' v-bottom I have ever been in. They can run well with the right work done to them. Mine has had the bottom blueprinted and has a bit of pump work (blueprint, loader, shoe, rideplate, droop). The motor in it now dyno'd 533Hp and I GPS'd 86.5 MPH on this trip with me and my wife in the boat. It was down river with about a 3 mph current so figure 83.5 MPH. There is a guy runnin about 98mph in one and I think he is runnin about 750 Hp and has a lot of bottom and pump work in his.
Lets see some more pics of your boat.

I didn't know how far I would make it without runnin dry and was suprised to see how far I was able to go. I have 2-10 Gal tanks. Left Avi with full tanks, ran down to Havasu Sand Bar on one tank, never ran dry on that tank. At sandbar, I switched tanks, ran up to Topock and topped off the tanks. Ran from Topock up to Davis dam and back to Avi. When I filled the boat up the next day it took 16 Gal. So I figure in all the trip took about 22-25 Gal total. That's about 4-5 mpg.

Yeah, I thought that was the one I saw in the mag. It was a total inspiration to me. I have had mine about 3 years and havent done much. Added a stealth intake, electronic ign. thats about it. I am in the process of sanding and buffing the gel now, although it needs a re paint soon. Maybe not this winter, as I want to build the motor and get the interior done.
I will take some more pics at first chance. I am super stoked to read how yours performs, as it is about the same as I want to do to mine. Hopefully next summer I can make some of those river runs with you! :)
I am not new to boating or jet boating, just finaly can spend some time and money on what I have. I have to replace the stringers for sure, and want to get the motor/pump in unison this winter. As I stated before, I have a 58 m.p.h. baseline, so I can only get better from there. I love the way mine rides and handles, when it gets rough, she gets fun, and runs better, have beat a few guys in the rough stuff. Thanks for the response! Are you the one with the red chevy truck as well?

The Red Chevy belongs to Travis who used to own the boat before I got it from him.
