Blown alki flat in Ohio on e bay with no reserve. I've seen nicer ones but this one looks like it could clean up pretty good.
What do you think this boat will go for??

Definately will be a good one to watch! 140 Mph? Okay. This may be one of those auctions that get cancelled before it ends, like the one you just had experience with. wink

Ok, lets hear a guess on the sale price.
I say it will go for 7,376.01. Is the price right?

"Mike Kuhl" built 468 Blown/ Supercharged Alky Motor. Has all the serious go fast goodies and no junk. Whirl-a-way, cav pedals, etc. Has a water pump on it for attempting to idle through no wake zones (yeah, right). Boat ran 140 and it sounds great. Zoomies have baffles but it should have full headers with a little water for lake cruising. Includes 30 gallons of methanol in a drum if desired. Could be converted to run gas but pills would have to be changed in inj pump, etc. Still has 15 gallon gas tanks on sides but center tank is for alky.
140mph HUH OK, Looks like the same Kuhl 468 river rat i just sold that was rated at 800 horsepower. I wonder if you can get that extra 300 horsepower by running alky ?

I've been watching that one myself, I only live about 4 hrs from Dayton, Ohio. I'm not sure about 140 mph, but a 468 BBC with big blower like that ought to make at least what, 1000 hp? Looks like a 1471 with a magneto from the other pics on ebay. I've already got 2 blown hydros and gonna pick up another blown Laser 24' sport boat today, I imagine if I would try to sneak in a blown flat bottom I would get to split all my stuff 50/50 with my wife and i'd be looking for a place to stay. Good thing it's warming up enough to sleep in my truck.
PS to DC 066,
Can I drag the fleet down to Jacksonville and stay in the garage?

Not a 14-71, a 6-71 or 8-71 at the most.
No offset mag drive, you need at least a 4" offset drive for a 14-71
http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_ca7fbd011ed451baf30287e84ff6099a/i-7.JPG
I would lean more towards a 6-71 because it only has one center rib on the case and most 8-71 blowers i have seen have 2 center ribs on the case.

Man you guys have to get a life! You thought you were intelligent posting this BS about my boat - Shame on you! Yeah, you are relly the guys I want to hang out with at the lake... NOT! No wonder the younger guys aren't interested in this stuff with people like you running these boats.
You guys must have way too much time on your hands (and probably don't even own a boat half this nice)to post a string this long about an old howard.
I haven't driven this boat yet and the previous owner gave me the supposed "specs". Sorry for even listing it. I downgraded it based on the one other alcohol motor I owned and because your "hyper intelligent" mental mastur***ion "LOL" buddy wrote me an idiotic note. Wow! What a sharp guy!

Like I said...another "coulda, shoulda, woulda" armchair quarterback, pal. You obviously don't have a KB and by the way I do know what that is.
I made the mistake of using the former owner's claims on this boat and I found a bunch of guys sniping/backstabbing my auction back here on what appears to be a pretty cool bulletin board. Too bad. I'm sure not all of you are like this.
And yeah, Ca is not the only place to own and run a v drive. Nice slam on the rest of the country, brains. It is a lot harder to find people (who know something about these boats and are decent) and parts out here.
Now that I have had time to read the rest of this string I can't believe that someone thought I cut and pasted the pics. Like anyone has time to do that.
Anyway, still can't believe thats the best you can do for a comeback. "LOL"

Thanks. And yes, your boat makes my Howard look pretty crusty. I should have given it a good clean up before I took those pics in the warehouse. I took them in Feb when we had 10 -12" of snow on the ground and the garden hose was frozen to the spigot. I did see where you guys were trying to figure out the blower size. I really think its a 6-71. Is Mike Kuhl still around? His stickers and machined nameplates are all over the motor.
I wouldn't sell this thing unless I needed to but I have an old Stevens that I have had for years and I need the cash.
Is $6000 for the motor and $5000 for the hull and trailer not a good idea?
Thanks again

As far s price, get what you can. I bet they could be worth a little more back there because there is not as many to pic from. Here they are a dime a dozen and people are getting rid of them for that new 26' cat they just bought. The nice, race proven ones still bring some pretty good coin though. I sold the above boat less engine for 4,500.00! I gave it away. Like I said, I wish I was into this internet thing back then as I know I could have got way more. Oh well.
So are you part of the Michigan Hot boat club? If not you should be. From the little I know about them it's a really cool club.
And lastly, this is a really great forum. Hope you stick around. Lets see some pics of that Stevens sometime.
Oh, I grew up in the Midwest. Northen Indiana, Lake James was my old stomping grounds. Been a long time, I need to get back that way sometime.
