View Full Version : Gay Cowboy Movie

John Wayne is rolling over in his grave over the new Movie BrokeBack Mountain. At least in my opinion anyway. I have not seen it so I shouldnt pass judgement but it just seems wrong in every way and a travesty to the western/cowboy history. I don't consider myself racist nor do I care about sexual preferences. Or at least I usually dont care. I cant figure out why this bothers me so much.
This morning our local radio show in Sac had two guys (cowboys) that were trying to win George Strait tickets to an upcoming concert. I guess the deal was that they would have to go to this movie, together, and sit together, and watch the whole thing and then report back to the station, ON AIR with the results. They are both married with WIVES and agreed to do it.
One of them had a T shirt made that was pretty creative and comical that read across the front...KNCI Country 105.1 and across the back it said 100% STRAIT.
Their take on the movie was that 1/2 hour in to the movie it made them sick. They said they were surprised at the amount of people in the theater AND the age group. Mostly elderly people. Kinda surprising to me.
When asked if it was worth it and if they would do it again, both said yes - for George Strait tickets.
How many of you studs out there would have done it? And how many of you have done something stupid for a radio show for tickets? And what did you do?
Just curious.

I saw this movie w/a girlfriend of mine, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We were both expecting it would be something like gay porn & were really surprised at how tame it really was compared to what we expected. I could definitely see how John Wayne wouldn’t be thrilled along w/other men in America who are 100% strait. :)

Yeah, and the John Wayne movies portrayed the west exactly as it was! 50's westerns aren't exactly historically accurate.

I have to think that if 78eliminator was the last straight male on earth, we would have to asume that all the women were lesbians.
There has to be some things that are taboo. The majority of people are uncomfortable with homosexuality, just as they are with beastility, underage sex, group sex and public displays of groping. The question is not whether or not it exists, but whether it should be forced upon the public. (Here comes the "If you don't like it, don't go see it" crowd.) The fact is that the media is doing everything in its power to push this film. I am getting tired of the constant pushing the limits by the idiots who are trying to appeal to the 15-25 year old idiots. I was watching a preview of Smallville last night that had Cloe and Clark talking about how he was worried he could not control his super powers when he had sex with Lana. I was almost surprised that Cloe didn't volunteer to test him to see if she could smell burning rubber. And compared to the gammit of teen sex programs showing now, that would be considered tame.

Seadog, don't ruin my fantasy of being the only straight guy in a world of horny women and my primary job is to satisfy them all. I agree with most of what you said. I do not like to see public groping etc, by gay or straight couples. In my opinion, some things should be reserved for indoors. And yes, I have no intention of seeing that movie. Why? Cause it would gross me out and my eyes would burn. Not saying there is anything wrong with it, but it's not my cup o tea.
Speaking of movies, I still need to see the Johnny Cash flim. I heard it was pretty good.
