Anybody have some suggestions for a distributor for my 460? I presently have a marine points version that came with the motor and wanting to use something "electronic" and do away with the points.
Something that parts are easily available that I can also use with my msd 6al. I have seen some that use the old gm HEI ignition module and are these ok?
And perferably with no vacuum advance..
thanks

you could get one of those points to electric kits. then are ~ $90. They are super ez to install. All it really takes is a skrew driver. Lots of ppl on here have done that.
if you want to use a MSD 6al box your pretty much stuck with a msd dist.

Crane Cams has an XRi module that fits inside, has built in rev limiter also.

Pertronics makes a nice deal and works well, or you can use your dissy, with a MSD 6AL box as you suggested. The points will last for ever, when triggering the MSD box, as it removes the current off the points, and fires the MSD box. If your box ever takes a dump , you can always switch it back, in case of emergency.

Procomp, on ebay like 125.00, MSD hooks up just like GM hei, three years on one of them, for just a good lake boat distributor you cant beat it for zero maintence......
